Traffic police will be team leaders at 191 key traffic checkpoints.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Truong, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that in the coming time, to effectively implement solutions to ensure traffic order and safety, reduce accidents, control and prevent congestion, Ho Chi Minh City Police has arranged commune-level police and security forces at the grassroots level to regulate traffic at 366 checkpoints in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Truong, in 366 checkpoints, there are 191 key traffic points. Ho Chi Minh City Police will arrange for traffic police (in yellow shirts) to act as team leaders, directly coordinating with commune-level police and security forces at the grassroots level to participate in commanding and controlling traffic, handling violations, and preventing congestion...
"Through initial inspection, we found that some officers and soldiers on duty at traffic checkpoints have not yet been effective, and have not yet met the requirements for command, coordination, and handling of traffic conflicts. Their whistle, baton, and gestures have not yet met professional requirements. Therefore, the training course will foster and guide you to improve and perfect these professional skills," said Senior Colonel Pham Quang Truong at the opening of the training course.
According to the plan of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, during the implementation process, the commune-level police will be primarily responsible for directing, controlling traffic, and preventing congestion at the commune level; assigning and arranging specific forces at each checkpoint and intersection.
At the same time, the commune-level police also coordinate and support the traffic police in stopping vehicles, checking, making records, focusing on handling behaviors such as stopping and parking in violation of regulations, not obeying traffic lights, signs, road markings, riding on sidewalks, not wearing helmets, etc.; promptly informing and coordinating with forces when complicated situations regarding traffic order and safety arise.
