In China, Zhu Jinxiang has been carrying his disabled friend from the same village to school since the third grade, and now both are taking the university entrance exam.
Zhu Jinxiang and Zhong Huaqiang are two exceptional candidates in this year's college entrance examination (gaokao).
Zhong was born into a poor family in Ganzhou City with cerebral palsy. The disease later caused scoliosis, making it impossible for him to walk straight. To help him go to school, Zhu and his friends in the village took turns carrying Zhong to school, starting when they were in the third grade.

Thanks to Zhu's companionship, Zhong excelled in his studies. Both of them later achieved excellent results in the high school entrance exam and were admitted to a prestigious school in the city. The two friends continued to study in the same class and sit at the same desk.
Throughout high school, Zhu was Zhong's legs, taking him wherever he needed to go. Zhu carried Zhong on his back to class, the playground, the bathroom, and other places on school grounds. He also helped Zhong get water and organize his personal belongings. The two chatted and did homework together every day.
"At first, I was just trying to show off my strength by carrying him. But then, I realized that whenever I was happy or sad, Zhong always encouraged me. As time went on, we became good friends, sharing everything together," Zhu said.
Due to his illness, Zhong has to squat on a chair to study. According to Zhu, despite his weak health, Zhong is optimistic, has a good sense of humor, and a strong will, which he admires. The male student hopes they will continue to study at the same school when they go to university.
"I hope we get accepted into the same school. I'm ready to continue being her legs," Zhu said.
