(Haiphong.gov.vn) – The Vietnam Maritime Administration has just issued Decision 226/QD-CHHVN announcing the opening of Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT), part of Lach Huyen Port Area of ​​Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal Company Limited, to receive Vietnamese and foreign ships entering and exiting to load and unload goods and perform other related maritime services.

Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (abbreviated name: TC-HICT), located on the left side of Hai Phong shipping channel, in Cat Hai district. The port is located in the seaport waters under the management of Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority, announced by the Ministry of Transport in Circular No. 23/2019/TT-BGTVT dated June 21, 2019.

The port has a total length of 750m (Wharf No. 1 is 375m long, Wharf No. 2 is 375m long), receiving ships with a capacity of up to 50,000 DWT fully loaded and 145,000 DWT partially loaded with suitable drafts (ships with a capacity of over 100,000 DWT to 132,900 DWT partially loaded have a maximum draft of 14.3m, ships with a capacity of over 132,900 DWT to 145,000 DWT partially loaded have a maximum draft of 14.0m); Wharf No. 1A is 150m long, receiving ships and barges with a capacity of 100 Teus (equivalent to ships with a capacity of 2,000 DWT).

Accordingly, the Hai Phong Maritime Port Authority is responsible for specialized State management of maritime in the above-mentioned ports and wharves and is entitled to collect fees according to the provisions of law. Based on the conditions of wharf exploitation, actual conditions of the wharf, maritime channels in the area, water depth limits in front of the wharf, ship channels entering and leaving the wharf (according to maritime notices) ..., the design documents of the wharf, the conditions of wharf exploitation, the provisions of this Decision, the approved safety assurance plan and relevant legal provisions to allow ships with appropriate tonnage and draft to enter, exit, anchor, load and unload goods and perform other maritime services at the above-mentioned wharves with the requirements of ensuring maritime safety, maritime security, fire and explosion prevention and environmental pollution prevention.

Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal Company Limited is responsible for, based on the provisions of this Decision, relevant legal provisions and wharf design documents, technical specifications of ships according to the design, technical instructions approved by competent authorities to specifically notify the operating conditions and organize the operation of the wharf for the right purpose. Review, complete and approve the operation, exploitation and maintenance procedures of the project in accordance with the wharf design according to current regulations; during the operation and exploitation process, it is necessary to regularly monitor, observe, inspect and evaluate the safety of the project to promptly handle incidents and carry out maintenance and repair of the wharf, periodically survey and notify maritime traffic of the depth of the water areas in front of the wharf, the wharf access channel and the wharf turning basin according to regulations to maintain the condition and technical parameters of the project, ensuring normal operation and safety during use and exploitation.
