Ballet performance "Swan Lake"

On the evening of October 11, at the City Theater, the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) performed the first performance of the ballet Swan Lake by the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Swan Lake is no longer a stranger to audiences who love classical art. Tchaikovsky's romantic and tragic musical melody has contributed to the work's great success and made it one of the most famous ballets in the world.

The three-act ballet revolves around the love story between Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette - a tragic and dramatic love story filled with passion and betrayal. Notably, in Act 3 of the play, Odile the Black Swan will perform 32 extremely difficult fouetté turns.

In August 2025, within the framework of HBSO's Autumn Melodies Arts Festival, an excerpt of the ballet Swan Lake premiered and made a strong impression on a large audience.

Due to the special attraction of the ballet, HBSO invested in staging the most complete version of Swan Lake, with a series of emotional performance scenes. This performance also marked a turning point in the performance organization of HBSO and for the entire Vietnamese ballet art.

The Swan Lake ballet will continue to light up for another performance on the evening of October 12, at the City Theater.
