Many enterprises attach great importance to improving product quality by applying automatic production lines, intelligent control systems and high technology in production. The rapid development of technology requires improving the skills of workers.

Transforming in the age of technology

Mr. Tran Xuan Quyet, a technical worker at Yuen Foong Yu Dong Nai Paper Company Limited (Long Thanh District), said that from a low-income production worker, he learned to improve his professional skills and is now able to operate modern paper production machines imported by the company from abroad. The characteristic of these machines is that workers only operate, program via computer screens and control technical parameters, the products are automatically completed without the workers having to work as hard as before.

In enterprises, workers are not only good at operating production lines, but also at monitoring data, analyzing technical parameters, using management software and interacting with digital systems. A typical example is VPIC Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (Trang Bom district), in the past 5 years, this enterprise has continuously imported robot welding machines and CNC machines in the production of spare parts and auxiliary parts for exported motor vehicles. More than 80% of the workers here proactively learn and operate CNC machines, determine standard parameters, program, create 2D and 3D models of finished products after processing, meeting the requirements of production innovation.

According to the company's Production Management Director Nguyen Xuan Sinh, when automatic production lines are put into production, it requires a high level of knowledge and professional skills from workers to operate the machines effectively. Currently, the company's workers are all skilled and highly skilled, working professionally. In addition, in production, if the machines operate poorly or do not meet quality standards, workers can research and improve them to benefit the company, such as making molds for frames, sports car frames, improving drilling fixtures, etc. These initiatives are applied in production workshops and bring great value to the company. From there, affirming the intelligence and creativity of workers.

According to records at enterprises, highly skilled workers can do many different job positions and they quickly access modern technology, which is highly appreciated by enterprises.

At the Conference to Summarize the Patriotic Emulation Movement among workers and civil servants organized by the Provincial Labor Federation in March 2025, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee HO THANH SON emphasized that the workforce needs to continue to comprehensively implement the innovation process, actively participate in emulation movements, and make more important contributions to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the province.

Workers are constantly striving to improve their position in the enterprise. Many workers have become pioneers in promoting initiatives and improving techniques, helping enterprises save costs, improve production efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. Small ideas from workers on production lines have created major breakthroughs, affirming their position in the process of modern economic development.

Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Nhu Y said that in the context of the strong development of the 4.0 industrial revolution, Dong Nai's labor force has proactively transformed itself, improved its skills, and mastered machinery and technology. In addition, laborers have trained themselves in industrial style, discipline, and adaptability to work. This is demonstrated through emulation movements launched by the Trade Union, which have aroused the creativity and enthusiasm of laborers. In 2024 alone, in the production sector, the whole province had more than 2,800 technical innovation topics and initiatives and more than 31,000 production ideas from laborers, saving units and enterprises tens of billions of VND.

According to union officials, in order for workers to continue to promote their strengths in production and play a key role in local socio-economic development, the whole system needs to join hands, from vocational training policies, supporting digital transformation, to building a safe, humane and modern working environment. Enterprises need to consider workers as the center of sustainable development, creating conditions for them to study and improve their professional skills and creating welfare policies. Union organizations and vocational education units need to work together, build support programs so that workers have the opportunity to update new knowledge and develop sustainable careers; at the same time, strengthen the role of caring for and protecting the rights of workers.
