I noticed that manually recording product weight often led to errors, wasted time checking, and affected overall work progress. Therefore, I proactively proposed an improvement solution: automatically entering weight onto barcode labels. During the implementation of this initiative, I collaborated closely with colleagues and superiors to adjust the software and conducted numerous tests to ensure stable application. As a result, the process became faster and more accurate, contributing to minimizing errors, providing strong support for the workforce, and increasing productivity.”

Keeping pace with digital transformation
Ms. Dang Thi Chuc Em, an employee of the Accounting Department at SAMBU LA Co., Ltd. (Duc Hoa district), received a certificate of commendation as an outstanding worker.
As an employee of the Accounting Department at SAMBU LA Co., Ltd. (Duc Hoa district), Ms. Dang Thi Chuc Em (born in 1997) has made a strong impression on the Board of Directors and her colleagues thanks to her proactive spirit, eagerness to learn, dedication, and active participation in digital transformation at work.
Responsible for accounts payable, inventory accounting, and related accounting tasks, Ms. Chúc Em strives to complete her assigned duties well, proactively checking data and updating reports; at the same time, she constantly learns to find optimal solutions for her work.
During her five years of work, she developed two practical initiatives that contributed to improving the efficiency of the accounting department. Among them, her favorite initiative is automating the supplier payment tracking spreadsheet using Excel, which includes an overdue payment alert function. Stemming from the fact that manual debt tracking was time-consuming and prone to errors, she proactively researched and developed an automated tracking spreadsheet. This is also how she embraced digital transformation in her work.
"Although I initially faced many difficulties in optimizing the formula and ensuring the spreadsheet ran smoothly, thanks to my perseverance in learning and the timely support from colleagues and superiors, my initiative was perfected and applied to my work," Ms. Chúc Em shared.
After implementing the initiative, checking accounts receivable and sending information to relevant departments now only takes a few minutes instead of hours as before. The initiative not only increases accuracy and reduces work pressure but also helps her allocate time more effectively.
Ms. Chúc Em shared: “The company always encourages employees to propose improvements and innovations in their work. The support and recognition from colleagues and leaders are a great source of motivation for me to continue striving harder. I aim to continue developing initiatives for automated cost reporting to increase accuracy, reduce work pressure, and contribute to building a dynamic and professional work environment .”
Small initiative, big impact.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, an employee of the Anti-Water Loss Department of Long An Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company (Tan An City), uses an acoustic correlation machine to locate the position of the pipe.
Having worked for Long An Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company (Tan An City) for ten years, Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, an employee of the Anti-Water Leakage Department, has become one of the outstanding individuals thanks to his enthusiasm, high sense of responsibility, and continuous innovation in his work. Mr. Dang Khoa is responsible for detecting leaks in the entire water supply system managed by the company.
Using specialized equipment, he and his colleagues promptly detect and address leaks that cause water loss. In addition, he participates in regulating water pressure to ensure the needs of the people are met; and coordinates with relevant departments to handle violations by organizations and individuals using water illegally and damaging the company's water supply system.
During his work, Mr. Dang Khoa was energetic, fulfilling his role and responsibilities with high efficiency, not afraid of difficulties, and successfully completing assigned tasks. Not only dedicated, he also demonstrated creativity with his innovative technical improvement initiative: replacing water meters with smart ones, aiming to improve management and operation, prevent water loss, and gradually move towards smart water supply.
This idea stemmed from practical work experience. He noticed that manually recording meter readings was time-consuming, and the old meters were not very accurate. Therefore, he proposed replacing the old meters with smart meters in one area first, then evaluating the effectiveness and continuing to implement it in other areas. Implementing this initiative involved a high cost for meter replacement, which presented some challenges for Mr. Dang Khoa. However, he was determined to use the results to convince the company's leadership.
Mr. Dang Khoa stated: “The results are exactly as expected. Smart meters contribute to reducing the operating and management costs of the water meter system, providing accurate remote automatic readings, and most importantly, eliminating the need for staff to directly interact with consumers. This saves a significant amount of labor costs for meter reading and customer list creation, contributing to increased labor productivity – an inevitable trend in the current Industry 4.0 era.”
When implementing Mr. Dang Khoa's initiative, the company's overall water loss rate decreased by 3.5% compared to 2023. Specifically, it decreased from 9.45% (2023) to 5.95% (2024), with an estimated water recovery of approximately 742,000 m³ . “When the improvement initiative is recognized and proves effective, I am very happy. I feel proud to have contributed a small part to the development and success of the company and the community. The recognition of the initiative is an acknowledgment of my efforts, intelligence, and passion for improvement in my work. I will continue to develop this technical initiative as well as come up with new initiatives to improve work efficiency,” Mr. Dang Khoa shared.
The innovative initiatives from young workers not only bring practical benefits to businesses but also demonstrate maturity in thinking, a spirit of innovation, and a will to excel in the workforce. Motivated by a positive work environment, recognized and given opportunities for development, young workers actively contribute to the sustainable development of businesses, the socio-economic development of the province, and increasingly affirm their pioneering role in the country's reform process.
