Bustling construction site on Tet holiday
In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, the construction atmosphere on Route 495B, the new East-West corridor of Ha Nam province, has become more bustling and urgent than ever.
Contractors mobilized maximum labor and equipment to complete the asphalt concrete surface for people to travel and enjoy Tet and welcome spring.
Hundreds of engineers and workers, along with dozens of vehicles and equipment of the contractor Xuan Thanh Group, are racing against time to complete the important items of the project.
Engineer Pham Van Duc - in charge of construction technical management of the contractor Xuan Thanh Group said: Currently, we are focusing on completing the construction of the intersection at the beginning of the route adjacent to National Highway 1. Today, we must finish the crushed stone layer so that tomorrow we can do the cleaning work, water the asphalt to adhere, and then on the 28th of Tet, we will lay asphalt concrete.
In total, the unit has paved 18.5km of C19 hollow asphalt and 17.5km of C12.5 tight asphalt on the main route. Only a few sections remain at the QL37B overpass, the railway overpass, and the Liem Son intersection (Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway intersection), due to lack of land.
When completed, the route will be the connecting axis of the East-West corridor, opening up opportunities for socio -economic development for purely agricultural areas of Ha Nam province.
At the peak of the construction site, we mobilized up to 25 rollers, 2 asphalt concrete lines, 10 excavators, chisels, dozens of transport vehicles with more than 100 engineers and workers. The total output value to date is estimated at 80%. If the site is fully handed over, we are completely confident in completing the project ahead of schedule.
According to engineer Duc, although this year the construction will not last through Tet, by the 29th of Tet, the asphalt part of the road will be basically completed, ensuring people can travel to enjoy Tet and welcome spring.
Opportunities for socio-economic development in purely agricultural areas
Walking along the route, one can clearly see the benefits that the route brings. Previously, it took more than 30 minutes to travel from National Highway 1A to Liem Son Commune via District Road 495B. Now, the straight, flat and beautiful road only takes 10 minutes to get there.
In the future, the road will be extended, connecting via the highway, leading to National Highway 21 and then to Thai Ha Bridge, becoming an East-West connecting corridor; opening up opportunities for socio-economic development for purely agricultural areas of the districts: Thanh Liem, Binh Luc, Ly Nhan.
If the site is handed over early, contractors are confident they can complete the project ahead of schedule.
In addition, the road connecting with the road connecting the two Tran temples creates an axis for cultural development and spiritual tourism between the two provinces of Ha Nam and Nam Dinh.
Walking on the newly paved road, Mr. Bui Van Nghi (living in Chanh village, Liem Son commune) excitedly said: "We have been waiting for this road for more than ten years. This Tet, with a new road, we will not have to endure the dusty journey like every year, everyone is happy."
Mr. Pham Quang Hung, Deputy Director in charge of the Ha Nam Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: The construction process of this project encountered many difficulties, and had to adjust the scale and total investment many times.
However, with the attention of the Government, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the project has been allocated enough capital for construction. Currently, the contractors participating in the project are very determined. The proof is that up to now, the project has been implemented and achieved a disbursement rate of up to 70%.
For the sections that need to be prioritized to meet the immediate travel needs of the people, the contractors have all met the requirements set by the province and the board. For the sections that are stuck with land due to people's residential land, the board is coordinating with the locality to complete compensation procedures, striving to basically hand over all the land to the contractor by April 30, 2024.
Mr. Hung also said that this is a key project of the province, so the project has received special attention from the provincial leaders. In addition to regular meetings to review progress with the Board and contractors, almost every month the provincial leaders go to inspect the site. On the afternoon of February 5 (December 26), Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Truong Quoc Huy personally drove to the project to conduct a surprise inspection and give urgent instructions to speed up the progress.
The project is divided into 2 routes. Including: Route 1 is 32km long, connecting National Highway 1 via Highway 495B (phase 1) with Hanoi - Ninh Binh Expressway, Highway 21A, Highway 21B, connecting to Thai Ha Bridge, Hung Ha Bridge. Route 2 is 14.6km long, connecting the two Tran temples.
The total investment of 3,600 billion VND is supported by the central budget combined with local capital, implemented in the period from 2022 to 2025. Contractors: Xuan Thanh Group, Dai Phong Company, Vinaconex.
