Over the years, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company has always strived to respond to the emulation movement to build "Excellent Enterprises" to create motivation to strive for comprehensive development, improve business efficiency, solve employment, income, and policies for employees.
When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, like other domestic and international tourism and service units, Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company was severely affected and damaged. The company had to close all hotels, resorts, and services. The newly-built Festival and Service Center was not in operation but still had to pay both principal and interest. On the other hand, more than 400 workers were unemployed, but the company still had to worry about money to maintain the operation of the apparatus, employee salaries, etc.
In the storm called Covid-19, many businesses were swept away from the market vortex, but Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company has used many solutions to strengthen the tradition of solidarity, compete in creative labor, especially compete to build "Good Enterprises" to regain its "form".
The company had to restructure its workforce; extend and postpone working days; managers volunteered to work and received very low salaries; worked with banks to change the debt structure; extended, postponed, and adjusted investment plans; and saved on regular expenses.
After the pandemic, the company focused on promoting the image of Yen Tu scenic spot; improving service quality, creating more tourism products, more unique experiences for visitors such as: Walking meditation, yoga meditation, flower lantern meditation; experiences for students making conical hats, dragonflies, to he, horse riding, archery; health care services at Tue Tinh hermitage... Strengthening the organization and promotion of Ao Dai festivals and painting exhibitions.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quy, Deputy General Manager, Chairman of the Trade Union of Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company, said: Thanks to the good implementation of policies for employees, after the pandemic was controlled, highly qualified workers still returned to work, creating great strength for Tung Lam to recover and develop soon. Labor emulation movements towards building "Good Enterprises" at the company were promoted, aiming to bring about business efficiency.
Through the competition, many initiatives have been applied to the work, typically the initiative to replace the main cable of the Yen Tu cable car system, line 2. After 13 years of operation, the Yen Tu cable car line 2 needs to be replaced to ensure safety. Previously, the replacement of the Yen Tu cable car was usually carried out by French experts at a cost of more than 10 billion VND. When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, French experts could not come to Vietnam to replace the cable car in time. In times of difficulty, ingenuity is the mother of invention, the company's technical staff and employees came up with their own calculations to solve this problem with a profit value of more than 10 billion VND.
Mr. Pham Van Luong, Technical Director of Hoang Long (Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company) shared: The process of replacing the cable car encountered many difficulties, because the terrain was very complicated. We came up with the initiative of using a 10mm cable to pull a 14mm cable, then using a 14mm cable to pull the main 26mm cable, then connecting it to a 42mm cable.
The main cable is 2,000m long and weighs 26 tons. When pulled from the ground up to Terminal 4, the total distance is 4,000m. The cable is heavy, the terrain is difficult, mobilizing support equipment to pull the cable is difficult; the company's workers and technicians have never done it before. However, with the creativity and determination of the entire team of leaders, technicians, and workers, after 1 month of preparation and 9 days of pulling the cable, Yen Tu cable car line 2 was successfully replaced.
The above solutions have helped Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company gradually recover after the pandemic. In 2022, when many hotels had no guests, Tung Lam welcomed guests at over 50% of its service capacity. In the first quarter of 2023, the tourism and spring travel market warmed up, Yen Tu scenic area welcomed over 400,000 visitors; Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company welcomed guests at over 60% of its service capacity. This is a clear demonstration of Tung Lam's efforts, determination, and solidarity to build a "Good Enterprise".
