Khanh Hoa Electricity Company: Stable and safe operation

In accordance with the policy of rearranging and reorganizing the operating apparatus, Khanh Hoa Power Company (established on the basis of reorganizing Ninh Thuan Power Company, which was received in its original state from Southern Power Corporation, operating from July 1, 2025) has quickly deployed work to ensure labor safety at facilities, creating a stable foundation for production and business activities in the new period.

Efficient operation

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Power Company (KhoPC) said: "In recent years, KHoPC has not only completed the tasks and targets assigned by the corporation but also met the electricity needs of local people. Many intermediate transformer stations have been newly built, the distribution grid has been upgraded, renovated and expanded, ensuring safe and continuous electricity supply, contributing to the successful completion of the economic, political , cultural, social, security and defense tasks of the province. Actively coordinate with media agencies to widely disseminate electricity saving solutions; at the same time, do a good job of customer care, promptly resolve recommendations and feedback related to electricity quality and electricity services".

In particular, since the beginning of the year, KHoPC has closely coordinated with local authorities to develop a plan to provide priority electricity for important political and social events, especially party congresses at all levels and major anniversary activities of the year.

“After the merger, we have restructured the organization to be more compact, lighter, and more flexible while still ensuring high operational efficiency. New model power management teams are arranged in all communes and wards according to the management area to meet the requirements of uninterrupted power supply and timely handling of incidents,” Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien shared.

Ensuring grid safety

Currently, KHoPC manages and operates the power grid with a scale of nearly 1,160km of medium-voltage lines, more than 1,290km of low-voltage lines, 11 110kV stations with a total capacity of 411MVA. The company also manages nearly 3,700 rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of nearly 394MWp, contributing to diversifying local energy sources. In 7 months, the company has reduced the power loss rate to 1.58%, 0.40% lower than the target assigned by the corporation. The power supply reliability indexes (SAIDI, SAIFI, MAIFI) all exceeded the plan. Thereby, ensuring safe and stable power supply for the socio -economic development of Khanh Hoa province.

KHoPC also promotes the application of science and technology in technical management such as: Updating the database on PMIS software to over 99%, implementing field inspections using mobile devices, performing equipment status-based maintenance (CBM) and operating 5/6 110kV transformer stations according to the criteria of unmanned stations. In addition, in 7 months, the company has applied 39 technical improvements to improve work efficiency. Labor safety work is enhanced with measures to closely inspect and monitor the field and strictly handle violations of safety regulations. In addition to technical and operational solutions, KHoPC also focuses on propaganda work, raising customer awareness about safe and economical use of electricity, especially during hot months.

Ensuring safety in production and business is not only a vital factor for KHoPC but also contributes to the overall development of the electricity industry, serving well the local electricity demand during the transition and new arrangement period.

During the visit and working session of the Central Power Corporation delegation at KHoPC on August 18, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh - Deputy General Director of Engineering highly appreciated the efforts of the KHoPC team in quickly stabilizing the apparatus, maintaining good technical management, operating the power grid safely and reliably, and achieving many positive results right from the first year of establishment. At the same time, Mr. Khanh suggested that KHoPC continue to focus on reducing power loss, improving the reliability of power supply, promoting the application of digital technology in operation management, focusing on labor safety and promoting technical innovation initiatives.
