VOV.VN - Phuc Tan Forest Park, located at the foot of Long Bien Bridge, has been "submerged" by the Red River in recent days. According to local residents, it will take many more days for the water to completely recede.

Previously, at the foot of Long Bien Bridge, right next to the Red River, Phuc Tan Ward (Hoan Kiem) was a wasteland, flooded with garbage. Thanks to the positive response from the local community, the Women's Union and Youth Union of Phuc Tan Ward participated in surveying, designing, and building a multi-purpose public space including a forest garden and playground.

However, due to the influence of storm No. 3 causing heavy rain, river water from upstream poured down, causing the water level of the Red River to rise, causing flooding in many areas near the river.

Although the Red River water has receded and the sun is shining, according to local people, it will take 3-4 more days for the water near the Red River to recede and return to its original state.

The water level of the Red River in Long Bien ( Hanoi ) at 1:00 a.m. on September 13 was 10.39 m, 11 cm lower than the level II warning. Therefore, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hanoi city has ordered to withdraw the level II flood warning on the Red River in the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Long Bien and the districts of Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, Gia Lam.

According to people living along the Red River, this is the biggest flood in the past 30 years. The water rose too quickly, leaving many serious consequences for the people.

After the flood, garbage from many places piled up, got stuck in tree holes, and floated on the water, polluting an entire residential area.

The leader of Phuc Tan ward (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) said that while waiting for the flood water to recede, the ward will hire units to cut tree tops to remove waste stuck in them, and spray disinfectants in the entire area of ​​Phuc Tan and Chuong Duong wards, especially the area along the Red River to prevent disease outbreaks.

It is expected that in the next 4 days, the water level along the Red River will recede, making it more convenient for people to clean up and re-clean the park.
