VOV.VN - Phuc Tan Forest Park, located at the foot of Long Bien Bridge, has been submerged by the Red River in recent days. According to local residents, it will take many more days for the water to recede completely.

Previously, the area at the foot of Long Bien Bridge, right next to the Red River, in Phuc Tan ward (Hoan Kiem district) was a desolate wasteland overflowing with garbage. Thanks to the active participation of the local community, the Women's Association and the Youth Union of Phuc Tan ward surveyed, designed, and built a multi-functional public space including a forest garden and playground.

However, due to the influence of the circulation of typhoon No. 3, which caused heavy rain, water from the upstream flowed down, causing the water level of the Red River to rise and flooding in many areas near the river.

The playground equipment sank beneath the water's surface.

Although the Red River's water level has receded and the sun is shining, according to locals, it will take another 3-4 days for the water in areas near the Red River to recede completely and return to its original state.

Exercise equipment and children's playground equipment were damaged after the flood.

At 1:00 AM on September 13th, the water level of the Red River at Long Bien ( Hanoi ) was 10.39 meters, 11 centimeters lower than flood alert level II. Therefore, the Hanoi City Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue ordered the withdrawal of flood alert level II on the Red River in the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Long Bien, and the districts of Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, and Gia Lam.

According to residents along the Red River, this is the biggest flood in the last 30 years, with the water rising so quickly that it has left many severe consequences for the people.

After the flood, waste from many places accumulated, getting stuck in tree hollows and floating on the water's surface, polluting an entire residential area.

According to leaders of Phuc Tan ward (Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi), once the floodwaters recede, the ward will hire units to cut down the tops of trees to remove trapped debris, and disinfect the entire area of ​​Phuc Tan and Chuong Duong wards, especially the area along the Red River, to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

It is expected that in the next four days, the water level along the Red River will recede, making it easier for residents to clean up the park.
