Injury shock for Real Madrid

In the early hours of February 26th, Raul Asencio had to leave the field on a stretcher after Real Madrid defeated Benfica 2-1 in the second leg of the Champions League play-off round.

The extent of Asencio's injury is currently unknown. David Alaba came on as a substitute, while Camavinga was replaced by Franco Mastantuono, but was able to walk on his own without assistance.

At the Bernabeu, the match was tense. Rafa Silva opened the scoring for the Portuguese side, before Aurelien Tchouameni equalized. The turning point came in the 80th minute when Vinicius scored the winning goal, securing a 2-1 victory (3-1 on aggregate). The Brazilian star continued his celebration, which had previously earned him a yellow card, amidst lingering controversy surrounding his alleged racist remarks.

In the first leg, Vinicius accused Gianluca Prestianni of racist remarks. The match was temporarily suspended for 10 minutes as part of UEFA's anti-racism procedure. Prestianni denied the accusation but was temporarily suspended for that match. If found guilty, the 20-year-old could face a minimum ban of 10 matches.
