Voters raised many issues related to security and order.

(CTO) - On June 3rd, the delegation No. 5 of the Can Tho City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, including Mr. Le Cong Ly, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tiem, Deputy Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the City People's Council, held a meeting with over 200 voters from Phung Hiep, Tan Binh, and Thanh Hoa communes before the mid-year regular session of the City People's Council in 2026.

During the meeting, voters proposed upgrading and expanding Provincial Road 928 and the road leading to the center of Phung Hiep commune (formerly), in order to ensure traffic safety and meet the needs of people for travel and trade. They also requested that relevant authorities strictly address the issue of counterfeit and substandard goods; and promptly provide tools, vehicles, and equipment to the commune police force and local security and order teams to ensure local security and order.

Voters voiced their opinions at the conference.

Voters also requested that the city strengthen training and improve the professional qualifications of commune-level officials and civil servants to meet the requirements of the new situation. At the same time, they hoped that the upcoming hamlet merger would be streamlined and suitable to the socio- economic development conditions of the locality…

In addition, voters requested the City People's Committee to survey and build a village cultural center so that people have a place for activities, recreation, and entertainment, aiming towards the goal of building a cultural village as well as a new rural commune in the future.

Mr. Le Cong Ly, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, responded to the opinions and suggestions of voters.

On behalf of Delegation No. 3 of the City People's Council, Mr. Le Cong Ly received and clarified the opinions and recommendations of voters within his authority. For recommendations beyond his authority, the Delegation will compile them and forward them to the relevant agencies for consideration and resolution according to regulations.
