According to the decision to inspect ticket sales, declaration and listing of airfares of Vietnamese airlines issued by the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the inspection team consisted of 10 people led by Mr. Do Hong Cam - Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority.

The inspection period is 3 working days, from May 7 to 9, 2024. The inspection period for ticket sales, declaration and listing of airfares of Vietnamese airlines is from January 1, 2024 to the date of issuance of the decision (May 4).

Previously, on May 3, the Minister of Transport issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to inspect and review the situation of high domestic airfares.

The dispatch issued by the Minister of Transport stated that recently, the high airfares of domestic airlines have directly affected people's travel needs, especially during peak periods such as the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays.

The Ministry of Transport requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to urgently review and inspect ticket sales, declare and post prices, and publicly and transparently disclose information about airline ticket prices.

In case of detecting any abnormalities, promptly direct, rectify and immediately handle violations according to authority (if any). At the same time, organize inspections and checks on ticket sales, declaration and price posting of airlines, absolutely do not allow ticket price increases against regulations.

The Department of Transport proactively monitors and promptly advises the Ministry to direct agencies and units to strengthen inspection of transport activities and passenger services, enhance solutions to best serve people's travel needs, stabilize ticket prices, and prevent illegal ticket price increases, especially during the upcoming summer peak season, on the principle of harmonizing the interests and rights of businesses and the needs of the people.

The Minister of Transport requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and the Department of Transport to urgently implement and report to the ministry before May 10, 2024.
