A mission from the heart...
The prolonged flooding has caused immense hardship for the people. During this time, charitable kitchens and relief goods collection points have been set up, demonstrating the warmth of human kindness amidst the disaster.

Kitchen team, sending love
Having just returned from a trip to support the North affected by storms and floods, and witnessing the flooding and landslides in Da Nang , Phan Van Duc (from Dong Duong commune, head of the Phan Duc Charity Club) and his teammates continued to plan support for people affected by natural disasters.
To carry out the program, he and his friends mobilized and appealed to kind-hearted people to lend a helping hand and contribute to providing more meals for their compatriots in times of need. With the funds raised, Duc and volunteers lit fires to boil pork marinated in fish sauce, made pickled vegetables, cooked Quang noodles, boxed meals, etc., and then transported them by boat to the flooded areas.

In addition to meals, the gifts given to flood victims included fresh milk, sticky rice cakes, and bread so that people could eat immediately when hungry. According to Mr. Duc, most people in the flooded areas had to evacuate and were unable to cook, so these meals, noodles, and milk, although not of great monetary value, helped warm their hearts and give them the strength to overcome the natural disaster.
In Hoa Cuong ward, without being asked, many women's associations unanimously contributed by buying food, rice, and fish sauce to cook meals and provide relief to the flooded areas.
On October 29th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chien, Head of the Women's Association Branch 50 and Director of the "Chien Nguyen Zero-Cost Kitchen" (Hoa Cuong Ward), along with other women, went to the Hoa Cuong wholesale market to buy vegetables and meat, which they then brought to the "Mobile Field Kitchen" located in Duy Nghia Commune to cook meals for flood victims. More than 1,500 warm, nutritious meals were delivered directly to residents of Duy Nghia, Duy Vinh communes and Hoi An Ward.

Over the past few days, the Youth Union of the City Police has been urgently preparing 500 meals to send to flood-affected areas. Following this, officers and soldiers of the City Police voluntarily contributed funds and essential supplies, and packed nearly 1,000 welfare bags containing instant food, dried food, drinking water, and other necessities.
Major Bui Anh Duc, Head of the Youth Committee of the City Police, said that despite the short campaign period, officers and soldiers enthusiastically supported the cause, demonstrating a spirit of solidarity for the flood-affected people. The relief packages have been transported to designated collection points, ready to be distributed to residents in the flooded areas of Duy Xuyen, Dai Loc, and Ha Nha communes with utmost urgency, all for the service of the people.
Meanwhile, in mountainous communes severely affected by landslides, schools have become shelters, and classrooms have become temporary resting places. Landslides have caused disruption and isolation, prompting philanthropists from the lowlands to send essential supplies up the mountains to help the people. Makeshift kitchens have sprung up. Teachers in the highlands have suddenly become "caretakers," helping the villagers and children have warm meals amidst the cold rain.
Mr. Nguyen Binh Nam, Chairman of the "Friends Who Care for Each Other" Club, said that in recent days, they have continuously received messages from mountainous communes requesting supplies for people who are being evacuated. To date, the club has mobilized compassionate individuals from all over to provide food and essential supplies to more than 20 evacuation points with over 1,500 people, helping them to confidently overcome this hardship.

Multiply acts of kindness
In Dien Ban Bac ward, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Ward Party Committee, directed political and social organizations to mobilize officials, members, and the people to jointly cook nearly 1,000 meals, and also ordered an additional 800 meals and 2,000 bottles of mineral water to provide relief to the families of patients who are stranded at Quang Nam Regional General Hospital (Dien Ban ward).

Hot meals and bottles of water handed out are not only a timely source of supplies during difficult times, but also a symbol of humanity and loving sharing amidst the rainy season and floods.
During the heavy rains, the atmosphere in Tam Anh commune was one of hustle and bustle, evident on every face. Some were cooking rice, others wrapping cakes, and still others preparing bottles of water… all hoping to contribute their small efforts to help the people of Dai Loc commune who were battling the floods.
On the morning of October 29th alone, the people and youth union members of the commune prepared 400 meals and 1,000 sticky rice cakes to be delivered to the people of the former Duy Xuyen district.
Huynh Minh Phat, Secretary of the Tam Anh Commune Youth Union, shared: “Currently, many communes are still isolated, and people lack clean water and electricity. But it is the human kindness shown during the floods that has helped everyone feel warmer and overcome these difficulties together.” That afternoon, the charitable convoy of the people and youth of Tam Anh rolled out, carrying feelings of sharing and solidarity to the people in the flooded areas.
In addition, the Duy Xuyen Volunteer Group and Friends (Thu Bon commune) also carried out many meaningful activities. According to Mr. Le Cong Muoi, a member of the group, from October 27th to 29th, the group rowed boats to each house to distribute meals to people in flooded areas. In total, the group prepared and distributed more than 3,000 meals, along with essential supplies, drinking water, and fever-reducing medicine to people in Thu Bon and Dai Loc communes. Besides providing food, the group also organized transportation and rescue for people deeply affected by flooding, taking them to safe places and hospitals.
Despite the ongoing difficulties following this historic flood, the solidarity and love spreading everywhere are a tremendous source of encouragement, helping the flood victims to regain confidence and overcome the challenges and stabilize their lives.
