During each fruit picking season, Mrs. Co has to work from early morning. At peak times, she picks two sessions a day, morning and afternoon. Every day, she can pick more than 100kg. Each harvest lasts from 1 week to 10 days. After about 1 month of care, there will be a new harvest, mainly sold to traders or her daughter to sell at markets in Duong Minh Chau, Tay Ninh city, Chau Thanh. In recent years, the price of cherries in the garden has fluctuated around 10,000 VND/kg, with an average monthly income of 5 million VND. This is the main source of income for the couple.

According to Ms. Co, growing and harvesting cherries at home is also convenient but still requires a lot of care. After two fruiting seasons, the branches must be pruned to help the tree grow, fertilized, and watered sufficiently during the dry season. Ms. Co often fertilizes the tree with ash and 20-15 fertilizer. In addition, she often monitors to promptly handle the situation, avoiding bee stings and damaging the fruit. There was a time when the price of cherries dropped to only 2,000 VND/kg, so many people switched to growing other types of trees. Ms. Co still decided to keep the garden, because she thought growing cotton or other types of trees was also unstable. During difficult times, she intercropped with other types of trees such as grapefruit, longan, and banana. Up to now, Ms. Co's garden only has cherries and provides a stable income.
Cherries are freshly picked from Mrs. Co's garden.
Although Mrs. Co's cherry garden does not have the same size as other varieties, it still ensures sweetness, crispness and firmness, so it is favored by many people. When the tree gets old or falls due to the weather, she grafts and replants the young tree. Cherry trees can be harvested after about a year of planting; the older the tree, the more fruit it has.
In addition to tending the garden, she is also the head of the loan group of the Commune Farmers' Association; takes care of her disabled husband, and takes him to club activities. Recently, her family was introduced by the Commune Disabled People's Club to borrow capital from the livelihood support program of the Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Protection of Children's Rights. Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Co shared: "I need capital to take care of the garden, I am happy to borrow interest-free capital because I have more resources to invest in taking care of the garden for better productivity."
