Fashion house Balenciaga uses rolls of tape to make bracelets, selling for $3,300 (81.5 million VND).
The design, called the Gaffer Bangle, debuted at the Fall-Winter 2024 show at Paris Fashion Week, France, in early March. To make the bracelet made from a roll of tape more expensive, Balenciaga printed the brand's name on the inside.
According to Highsnobiety , the accessory caught the attention of the audience. Most comments said "this idea is crazy", "Balenciaga does everything unusual to become famous", "never spend that much money to buy tape to wear as a bracelet".

In addition to the tape, Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2024 show featured many unusual designs, such as clothes wrapped in tape, dresses made from backpacks, underwear, gloves, and patchwork dresses that looked old and wrinkled. Creative director Demna Gvasalia told Vogue that he wanted to promote people's personal experiences through a series of questions that echoed on the runway: "What is luxury? What is fashion and why does it still work for someone?" Through the collection, the designer wanted to satirize the wasteful consumerism of people in a life of excess, overload and chaos.

This isn’t the first time Balenciaga has caught the eye with its unusual designs. The brand has made bags that look like sneakers , turning Cagole boots into shoulder bags. In October 2022, the brand attracted attention with a bag shaped like a bag of potato chips. The brand also brought a design that resembles a Tesco plastic shopping bag, a bag that simulates a $1,790 garbage bag.
