Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on June 9, while working in the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago, fisherman NTS (residing in Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province) on the QNg 98064 TS ship suddenly experienced pain around the navel and spreading to the right iliac fossa with increasing and continuous pain intensity.
At this time, the patient frequently vomited, his health weakened and he fell into a coma at 11:17 a.m. on June 11.
Upon receiving distress information from the ship, Vietnam MRCC provided the fastest route for the ship to return to the mainland; coordinated information with the Vietnam Institute of Marine Medicine and the 115 Emergency Center of Da Nang City to provide remote medical consultation.
According to the diagnosis of the medical team, fisherman S. had appendicitis that was at a dangerous stage and needed timely emergency treatment. If delayed, it could lead to death.
Faced with the critical situation, Vietnam MRCC mobilized SAR 412 ship (belonging to Danang MRCC) to urgently leave the bridge, coordinating with the 115 Emergency Center of Da Nang city to carry out the rescue mission.
At 20:33 on the same day, the maritime rescue team reached the QNg 98064 TS ship and immediately deployed emergency aid on the spot. Initially, the victim's life was saved.
At 2:21 a.m. on June 12, SAR 412 brought the distressed crew member to Da Nang safely and handed him over to the authorities as prescribed. Currently, the Da Nang City 115 Emergency Center has received the patient and taken him to the hospital for treatment.
