Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son is a former student of the 32nd course (1987-1992), Chemistry Department, Hanoi National University. Previously, he was Vice Principal of the University of Natural Sciences , term 2020-2025.
In 1992-1995, he studied for a Master's degree in chemistry at Hanoi University of Science; studied for a PhD in chemistry at Ehime University, Japan from 1996 to 1999, specializing in adsorption and catalysis.
He was appointed Associate Professor in 2007 and recognized and appointed Professor in 2019.

Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son has held many positions: Deputy Head of Petroleum Chemistry Department (2008-2012), Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department (2009-2010), Deputy Head of Chemistry Department (2010-2012) and Head of Chemistry Department (2012-2020).
From June 2020 to May 2025, he held the position of Vice President of the University of Science.
He has been Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee since July 2020 and Vice Chairman of the School Council since August 2023. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son is Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Adsorption Catalysts.
Previously, on May 5, Hanoi National University also issued Decision No. 2179/QD-VNU on recognizing Prof. Dr. Vu Hoang Linh, Party Committee Secretary, Rector of the University of Science for the 2020-2025 term, to hold the position of Chairman of the Council of the University of Science for the 2023-2028 term.
Prof. Dr. Vu Hoang Linh is a former student of the Mathematics Department of Hanoi National University (now the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences under the University of Natural Sciences), studied at university and did research in Hungary.

He defended his PhD in applied mathematics (computational mathematics) in 1998 at the University of Budapest.
Professor Vu Hoang Linh was recognized as Associate Professor by the State Council of Professors in 2007 and recognized and appointed to the title of Professor in 2022.
From 2009 to 2011, he did research under the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation program for experienced researchers at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany). He received his PhD (habilitation) also from the Technical University of Berlin in 2014.
From November 2008 to May 2014, he held the position of Head of the Faculty of Mathematics - Mechanics - Informatics, University of Science.
From May 2014 to May 2020, he was the Vice Principal of the school. From May 2020 to May 2025, he was the Principal of the University of Natural Sciences.
From August 2023 to present, Professor Vu Hoang Linh is the President of the Vietnam Mathematical Association.
