The morning sun bathed the lake and the lush green islands, dispelling the lingering mist that hung over Ham Thuan Lake, leaving a slight chill in the air that gave travelers the feeling that winter had arrived…
Following the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year “ Binh Thuan - Green Convergence,” hundreds of tourists flocked to Da Mi for sightseeing and relaxation, resulting in fully booked accommodations and homestays. The combination of sunny beaches, fresh mountain air, and freshwater lakes creates a unique charm for Binh Thuan's tourism industry. Even before the New Year's holiday, many families had already arranged to take time off early for a relaxing vacation. Therefore, it was easy to see hundreds of cars lined up along National Highway 55 and inter-communal roads in the mountains of Da Mi, and cafes packed with people, creating an unusually lively atmosphere. Also during this period, from December 27th to 29th, Viet Travel Company (Lua Viet Tours), in collaboration with the Binh Thuan Tourism Promotion Center, hosted nearly 100 journalists from various media outlets for a Famtrip workshop to survey eco-agricultural tourism products, leading to an unprecedented influx of tourists to Da Mi.
Nguyen Cong Thanh from Binh Duong , while sipping coffee at the May va Gio (Cloud and Wind) cafe and admiring the sunrise over Ham Thuan - Da Mi lake, shared: "My family and I, about 10 people, came to Phan Thiet for two days to 'reserve a spot' to watch the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 'Binh Thuan - Green Convergence,' which included a performance by singer My Tam, who is an idol of our family." After spending time in Phan Thiet, our family chose Da Mi to go on a boat trip on Ham Thuan - Da Mi Lake, experiencing fishing, watching the sunrise over the lake, and visiting the islands in the middle of the lake with all kinds of fruit trees such as durian, macadamia, avocado, mango, mangosteen… My family was quite surprised that Binh Thuan has a large freshwater lake with green islands in the middle, creating a dreamy landscape not unlike a miniature Ha Long Bay, but with a unique feature: visitors can set foot on the islands and pick ripe, fragrant fruits themselves… Besides visiting Ham Thuan Lake, visitors to Da Mi also have several tours and agricultural-related tourist attractions such as: tours to explore the 9-tiered waterfall, the misty waterfall, the flying cloud waterfall, and the Quan Am pagoda…
Agritourism and rural ecotourism are a new direction for tourism in Binh Thuan province, with Ham Thuan Bac and Da Mi districts being bright spots. This model exploits the unique and outstanding advantages and values of agriculture and rural areas, while contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. With the New Year approaching, Da Mi, like a proud "princess," awaits visitors with its pristine beauty of mountains, forests, lakes, and waterfalls.
