(To Quoc) - The project is designed to be modern and user-friendly, aiming to meet the increasing transportation needs of residents and tourists.

On March 24th, Da Nang City held a ceremony to announce the completion and handover of the renovated riverside sidewalk along Thang Long Street, from Asia Park to the border with Cam Le District.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that the project to renovate the riverside sidewalk landscape along Thang Long Street from Asia Park to the border of Cam Le District is a project of significant political and social importance, aimed at celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang City Party Committee and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City.

"The project is designed to be modern and user-friendly, aiming to meet the increasing transportation needs of residents and tourists," said Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee.

Construction began in May 2024 on the Thang Long roadside sidewalk landscape renovation project, from Asia Park to the border with Cam Le district. The project is managed by the Da Nang City Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation and Agriculture Projects, with a total length of nearly 2km and a total investment of 44.2 billion VND.

The project includes landscape architectural elements such as trees, public restrooms, fitness equipment, walking paths, bicycle paths, railings, etc. Notably, this is the first project in Da Nang to use maple trees to create a scenic focal point and provide shade along the Cam Le River.

The bike path and pedestrian walkway feature sidewalks 15-21.6m wide, a 3m wide washed-stone bike path, and natural stone-paved pedestrian walkways, incorporating stone benches, seating areas, and outdoor fitness equipment.

The project also includes two smart public toilet facilities with many superior features; the toilet cabins are made of stainless steel, meeting ASEAN public toilet standards.

The symbol of Da Nang City is displayed along the riverside railings...

The completed project, now in operation, contributes to the completion and synchronous connection of technical infrastructure, seamlessly connecting the pedestrian walkway along the river, enhancing the landscape, and strengthening the green spaces of the city; creating space for public activities and recreation for the local community; and at the same time, serving as a scenic highlight of the city on the west bank of the Cam Le River.

The existing shady trees on the sidewalk of Thang Long Street will also be preserved...

Parking bays are also provided along this route...

“With this renovation, the sidewalks of Thang Long Street will become a safe, clean, and beautiful space, encouraging people to walk and contributing to building a civilized and modern Da Nang city. The city government will continue to strive to improve infrastructure, better meeting the needs of the people and the requirements of the city's socio-economic development in the coming time,” said Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.
