Da Nang honored as "Angels Region" in stroke treatment

DNO - Da Nang has just been honored with the "Angels Region" award - an international title for regions with optimal and comprehensive stroke treatment systems at the Global Stroke Alliance (GSA) Conference held in Hanoi.

In Vietnam, besides Da Nang, the remaining 4 areas honored as "Angels Region" are: Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, An Giang.

This is the first time that localities in Vietnam have been awarded this title, marking an important step forward in building a model of emergency and stroke treatment that is synchronous and effective according to international standards.

4 criteria to be recognized as "Angels Region" - angel region in stroke treatment.

The fact that Da Nang was honored reflects the synchronization and professionalism of the entire city's health system, from grassroots to specialized health care, from outpatient emergency care to inpatient treatment.

This result is the result of the coordinated efforts of the entire city's health sector, including management, emergency organization, specialized treatment, communication and community training, contributing to affirming Da Nang's position on the stroke treatment map of Vietnam and the region.

“Angels Region” is a title awarded by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and the Angels Network, for regions that fully meet comprehensive criteria in stroke care: raising community awareness, effectively connecting with the pre-hospital emergency system (EMS), improving in-hospital treatment processes and ensuring sustainability and network expansion.

On this occasion, Da Nang Hospital - the unit playing a central role in the city's stroke treatment system - maintained its Diamond Status certification.

This is the highest level in the Angels assessment system, with outstanding indicators: short door-to-needle time, high rate of thrombolytic and cerebrovascular intervention, and the ability to successfully handle complex stroke cases.

EMS Angels quality criteria.

In addition to its professional duties, the hospital also trains, guides, and connects with other units inside and outside the city, such as: Hoa Vang Hospital, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Cam Le, Ngu Hanh Son, Gia Dinh, Vinmec Da Nang, Hospital 199, Emergency Center 115, Northern Mountainous Region General Hospital of Quang Nam, Quang Nam Regional General Hospital, Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital.
