Da Nang strengthens its response to radiation and nuclear incidents.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued document number [number] to departments, agencies, and localities regarding strengthening the response to radiation and nuclear incidents in the city.

The City People's Committee requests the Department of Science and Technology to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, localities, and media outlets to promote the dissemination of legal regulations on radiation safety and radioactive source security; and to organize training and education to raise awareness about responding to radiation and nuclear risks and incidents for organizations, units, businesses, and citizens in the city.

Simultaneously, strengthen inspection and supervision in the field of radiation safety, nuclear safety, and radioactive source security; promptly detect and strictly handle violations of regulations on ensuring radiation safety and radioactive source security by relevant organizations and individuals, especially facilities that use and store radioactive sources and medical diagnostic X-ray equipment.

The Department of Science and Technology guides organizations and individuals to fully comply with regulations on declaration, licensing for radiation work and related procedures in accordance with the law; organizes the review, updating, and supplementation of radiation and nuclear incident response scenarios to suit the actual socio -economic development situation of the city.

Relevant departments, agencies, and localities, based on their assigned functions and tasks, should proactively implement solutions to ensure radiation safety and security of radioactive sources within their respective areas of management.
