These days, Tho Dien molasses village, Vu Quang district ( Ha Tinh ), with more than 50 years of tradition. Molasses is one of Ha Tinh's best-selling specialties during Tet. It is estimated that the total molasses output of the commune this year will reach 200 tons, earning 10 billion VND.

The furnace is red hot, people are cooking molasses to sell for Tet.

The molasses furnaces blazed from early morning until late at night, giving off the sweet aroma of condensed molasses.

This is the most important time of the year for Tho Dien people, because molasses products not only bring a stable source of income but also contribute to preserving the traditional cultural features of Ha Tinh countryside.

According to people in the molasses village, to get delicious, standard drops of molasses, the production process requires patience and attention to every detail.

After the sugarcane is peeled, juiced and the residue is filtered out, the sugarcane juice is boiled in large pans for 4-5 hours. During this process, the molasses maker must constantly stir and skim the foam to ensure the quality of the product.

Once the honey turns amber and reaches the perfect consistency, it is filtered through a thin cloth to remove impurities, resulting in golden, fragrant drops of honey.

With the hard work and experience accumulated over many generations, Tho Dien molasses not only serves the consumption needs in the province but is also popular in many other localities. Especially, during Tet, this product becomes a meaningful gift, contributing to creating a stable income for the people here.

Mr. Dau Duc Lu (residing in Tho Dien commune) shared: "Although the molasses making job is quite hard, thanks to it, my family has a stable life and my children can fully study. Currently, thanks to the support of modern machinery, sugarcane pressing has become easier, helping to save labor and improve product quality."

Every Tet season, the craft village becomes more bustling, bringing everyone the sweet taste of molasses, imbued with the identity of the homeland.

This year, Tho Dien sugarcane village supplied the market with nearly 200 tons of molasses - a specialty of Ha Tinh. It is estimated that the whole commune has a revenue of more than 10 billion VND from molasses products.

Ms. Doan Thi Nhan - Director of Son Tho Molasses Service Cooperative (Tho Dien commune) - said: "At the end of the year, the facility received a large number of orders from customers for Tet gifts as well as food processing.

Compared to previous years, this year the production of molasses at the facility has also increased. The current price of a liter of molasses is around 55,000 - 60,000 VND. This year we expect to earn hundreds of millions of VND."

Tho Dien molasses is not only an agricultural product but also the pride of Ha Tinh people, demonstrating the spirit of hard work and the beauty of traditional culture.

The golden, fragrant drops of honey seem to carry the warmth of the land and human love, spreading the sweet flavor in every family, contributing to making Tet more complete.

Talking to Dan Viet reporter, Mr. Pham Quang Tung - Acting Chairman of Tho Dien Commune People's Committee - said: "This year, molasses output in Tho Dien commune reached about 200 tons, worth billions of dong.

The locality continues to promote propaganda, improve product quality, expand consumption markets, and increase sugarcane growing area to promote sustainable economic development."
