Specialties of Phu Lang pottery village

Phu Lang pottery village, located in Que Vo district, Bac Ninh province, has existed for nearly 700 years, producing exquisite pottery products famous throughout the country, becoming one of the oldest traditional craft villages in Vietnam.

Author Vu Tien Dung submitted his work "Specialties of Phu Lang Pottery Village" to the "Happy Vietnam" Photo and Video Contest , organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications . Through this series of photos, viewers can see the beauty of pottery products from Phu Lang Pottery Village, a traditional craft village specializing in pottery production in the Kinh Bac region.

Under the skillful hands of the artisan, traditional products gradually take shape.

Furthermore, a prominent characteristic of Phu Lang pottery is the use of relief sculpting in the form of double-layered carving; the glaze colors are natural, durable, and unique; the pottery's shape is rustic and simple yet robust, embodying the pristine beauty of earth and fire, and strongly reflecting sculptural artistry.

Phù Lãng pottery has its own distinctive characteristics, namely pottery products with brown, dark brown, light yellow, dark yellow, and yellowish-brown glazes… collectively known as eel-skin glaze. In Phu Lang, you will have the opportunity to explore and admire the beautiful and unique ceramic products at the pottery village. The ceramic products here are diverse, distinctive, and exquisite. Due to their unique and exquisite craftsmanship, many domestic and international tourists have come here to admire the products made by the hands of the pottery artisans. The Phu Lang pottery village was formed and developed around the Tran Dynasty, in the early 14th century. Currently, the Vietnam Historical Museum still preserves and displays some Phu Lang pottery products dating from approximately the 17th to 19th centuries.
