The Minister of Education and Training issued a decision recognizing Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the Foreign Trade University, as the Rector, replacing her predecessor, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, who retired.
Associate Professor Pham Thu Huong, born in 1977, originally from Kien Xuong, Thai Binh (now Hung Yen), is a former student of the 34th cohort majoring in International Economics at the Foreign Trade University. She graduated with a degree in International Economics in March 2000.
She then earned a Master's degree in Economics from Aarhus University (Denmark) in 2004 and a PhD in Economics from the Foreign Trade University in 2012.
She was appointed associate professor in 2019.

Associate Professor Pham Thu Huong, the new Rector of the Foreign Trade University.
With nearly 30 years of dedication to the Foreign Trade University, Ms. Huong has also held key positions such as Head of Planning and Finance Department, Head of Training Management Department, Vice Rector for the 2015-2020 term, member of the University Council, and President of the University's Trade Union.
Thus, the current Board of Directors of the Foreign Trade University consists of Rector Pham Thu Huong and two Vice Rectors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Hien. The Chairperson of the University Council of the Foreign Trade University is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy.
