- On the evening of May 29th, at Thanh Pagoda (Luong Van Tri Ward), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Lang Son Province solemnly organized the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570 - Gregorian Calendar 2026.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of the provincial People's Committee leadership was Comrade Tran Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Hoang Tung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Phung Quang Hoi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Kinh ward; representatives from provincial departments and agencies, along with a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people in the area.

The Buddha's Birthday celebration, recognized by the United Nations as one of the global international cultural events, takes place on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month every year. This is a significant event in the religious life of monks, nuns, and Buddhists, providing an opportunity to spread the spirit of compassion, wisdom, harmony, and goodness within the community. |

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers reviewed the significance of the Buddha Shakyamuni's birth; listened to the Buddha's Birthday message for the year 2570 of the Buddhist calendar from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; the Buddha's Birthday address from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; and the Buddha's Birthday congratulatory letter from the Ministry of Interreligious Dialogue - Vatican City.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised the positive contributions of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Lang Son province, its dignitaries, officials, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in implementing patriotic emulation movements, social welfare work, charitable and humanitarian activities, and building national unity. He expressed his hope that in the future, the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Lang Son province will continue to be an important "bridge" in consolidating national unity, encouraging monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers to live "a good life and a beautiful faith," contributing to building a more developed, civilized, prosperous, and beautiful Lang Son province.

On this occasion, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province donated 60 million VND to support the construction of two charitable houses for two disadvantaged families living in temporary or dilapidated houses; and donated 10 million VND to the Provincial Children's Protection Fund.

At the grand ceremony, delegates, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers performed the rituals of offering incense and making offerings to the Buddha, praying for national peace and prosperity, world peace, and the traditional Buddha bathing ceremony. The rituals were conducted solemnly, creating an atmosphere of unity and joy among the monks, Buddhist followers, and the people.
