The funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong was solemnly held at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam.

As of 4:00 p.m. on May 24, more than 20 delegations representing local agencies, partners, friends and the Vietnamese community in Brunei had registered to visit former President Tran Duc Luong.

At the funeral ceremony attended by officials, staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Brunei, Ambassador Tran Anh Vu read the Special Announcement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on organizing the State Funeral for former President Tran Duc Luong.

The Ambassador emphasized the contributions of former President Tran Duc Luong to the Vietnam - Brunei bilateral cooperation relationship, especially through the State visit to Brunei by former President Tran Duc Luong in 2001 and high-level exchanges and contacts between the former President and Brunei leaders.
