General Phan Van Giang: Research and production of modern weapons

On the afternoon of November 27, in Hanoi, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, chaired a working conference on military shipbuilding and some key tasks of the General Department of Defense Industry.

Speaking at the conference, General Phan Van Giang praised the General Department of Defense Industry and agencies and units for their efforts, proactively grasping the situation, closely following reality, promptly advising the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to implement the Politburo's direction on promoting the development of the defense industry until 2030 and the following years with many breakthrough successes.

General Phan Van Giang also requested agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement resolutions, conclusions, programs and plans of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on promoting the development of the defense industry, scientific and technological breakthroughs, restructuring enterprises, investing in improving the potential of the defense industry...

Further improve the efficiency of research and testing of new weapons, successfully produce modern, high-tech weapons and equipment; mobilize resources, master basic and core technologies, and increase the localization rate in all types of weapons and equipment produced in Vietnam.

At the conference, representatives of the General Department of Defense Industry reported on military shipbuilding and key tasks in the production of weapons and technical equipment.

Delegates unanimously agreed that over the years, the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense have always paid attention to the task of protecting the Fatherland at sea. They have focused resources on purchasing and building new combat ships, patrol boats, and support ships for the forces to ensure combat readiness and protect sovereignty over seas and islands.

Nowadays, the shipbuilding industry has made new developments, meeting the requirements of ensuring technical equipment and weapons for the army.
