Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen trustworthy, comprehensive and substantive cooperation.
The focus is on the following contents: enhancing delegation exchanges, meetings and contacts at all levels; promoting the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms; promoting cooperation and exchanges between the Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard/Coast Guard on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Philippines (1976 - 2026).
At the same time, through maintaining regular cooperation channels to update the situation, promptly coordinate to effectively handle incidents arising at sea, humanely handle fishermen who violate each other's waters; maintain effective cooperation in human resource training; study the possibility of expanding cooperation in a number of potential areas where both sides have strengths and needs, such as defense industry, logistics, military medicine, maritime security, search and rescue cooperation, cyber security...

For his part, Mr. Irineo C. Espino emphasized that over the years, the two countries have cooperated closely, including promoting defense cooperation.
Looking forward to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year (1976 - 2026), Mr. Irineo C. Espino hopes to further promote cooperation with Vietnam.
The Philippine Deputy Minister of National Defense said that this dialogue reaffirms the common vision for peace , security, stability, and development in the region as well as realizes the common vision on defense cooperation between the two sides.
During the dialogue, the two sides discussed the world and regional situation and issues of mutual concern. Regarding the East Sea issue, the two sides emphasized that as two countries with strategic interests in maintaining peace, security, and safety of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, they wish to continue to coordinate to promote ASEAN's stance of resolving all disagreements in the East Sea by peaceful means, in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
