Amidst the massive flow of entertainment stages, the drama group Doi Lang Lang has affirmed its enduring vitality for 15 years. Recently, the group has launched a series of short plays with the theme of Pink cheeks with a very attractive new look. Vu Tran added many details and plots to make the work more complete, suitable for the audience when watching live.

Without showing off special effects, the performance was a collaboration between Hong Trang - an actress who has moved many television audiences to tears, and Vu Tran - a director who won the runner-up prize in the Drama and Bolero competition. Together, they restored and breathed new life into 3 skits: Endless Field, White Lotus and To Anh Nguyet .

With a strong Western drama style, the series of plays depicts three portraits of women with three distinct tragic nuances. The audience encounters Nuong (Bao Chau) in Endless Field , growing up amidst the vastness of rivers and her father's hatred of women. Nuong's tragedy is loneliness, being deprived of the right to socialize, drifting aimlessly among wild laws that the light of civilization can hardly reach. Next is Trang (Ky Thao) in White Lotus (inspired by Lady of the Camellias ), a flower struggling to grow in the mud of the past. The ghosts of the past and the suspicion of the world forced that woman to leave love, compromise with cruel reality to survive. Finally, Hong Trang transformed into To Anh Nguyet - a classic image of sacrifice. She fully portrayed the pain of a mother who gave up her child, burying her own feelings to keep her filial piety and duty. Nguyet’s restraint and endurance on the small stage made the audience tear up. They cried, but many rounds of applause rang out continuously, and when the show ended, the audience did not rush to leave but lingered to share their feelings with each other.

The special feature of Pink Cheeks lies in its minimalism. The performance space is limited to a wooden platform. No microphone, no sound reinforcement, the whole crew both spoke and sang live for 2 and a half hours - an artistic labor intensity not inferior to any large stage. The "face-to-face" distance has erased the boundary between actors and audience. At that distance, all emotions must be genuine, not "over-the-top" or fake. The rustic, genuine acting of Hong Trang, Ky Thao, Bao Chau and the graceful juggling, bringing gentle laughter of the cast Thanh Lan, Duc Tuan, Le Anh Bang, Minh Quoc, Vu Duy Luan have created a harmonious whole.
The fate of the rosy cheeks is not only a reenactment of excerpts, but also a confession of decent artists, pouring their hearts and souls into their love for the characters and their own artistic sanctuary. Although it is a coffee play, all the actors perform very professionally, because they all graduated from the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, and have roles in other stages, including films. They gather in the Doi Drama Group because they respect "producer" Hong Trang, because they find decent works to dedicate their passion to.
