On the morning of November 22, General Phan Van Giang (Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam) inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of floods and visited and encouraged people in the flooded areas of Huynh Mai village, Tuy Phuoc commune and Lac Dien village, Tuy Phuoc Dong commune, Gia Lai province (formerly Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh province).

At the destinations, General Phan Van Giang kindly visited and shared difficulties with people in flooded areas, encouraged people to soon overcome losses and firmly believe in the support of the Party, State and local authorities in the process of overcoming the consequences of floods.

The Minister of National Defense requested the military, police and local authorities to coordinate closely, mobilize maximum means and human resources to overcome the consequences of floods, promptly support people, and absolutely not let any household be isolated or starving.
The forces of the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5 must stay in the area, support production recovery, repair houses and only withdraw when the mission is completed. The General emphasized the spirit of accompanying the people.
"In this condition, we will restore together. Everyone try a little harder," said General Phan Van Giang.
According to the general, in places where people are facing difficulties and hardships, the military and police forces must step in first to help.
"If materials have to be transported from a distance, the military region or corps must transport them for the people. If the soldiers can build simple parts, they can help. The soldiers are also the children of the people, many of them build very beautifully," said the general.

Emphasizing that Tet is near, General Phan Van Giang requested that forces speed up support so that people can stabilize their lives and have safe housing before the cold rainy season.
On this occasion, the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense supported Gia Lai province with 10 billion VND, 10 tons of dry food, 5,000 sets of clothes, 2,500 double tulle curtains and 2,500 single tulle curtains. Hanoi City also decided to support 50 billion VND to help Gia Lai province overcome the consequences of floods.
