In the face of prolonged heavy rains causing deep flooding in many areas in the provinces of Dak Lak , Khanh Hoa, and Gia Lai in recent days, following the direction of the Navy Command and the request of local authorities, since November 18, thousands of naval soldiers have entered the flood center to rescue people.

According to statistics from the Navy, from November 18 to 22, the Navy directed units to organize 4 campaigns, mobilizing 2,335 officers and soldiers, 61 boats, and 197 cars of all kinds to help people in Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Gia Lai provinces overcome the consequences of rain and floods.

With the determination not to let people be in danger, hungry and thirsty due to floods, naval officers and soldiers promptly evacuated 4,828 people to safety; supported 235 gift boxes, 1,140 gift packages, 58 meals, 150 boxes of instant noodles, 1,640 kg of dry food, 500 boxes of drinking water, 1,000 liters of soft drinks, 40 boxes of milk; cleaned up houses after the flood for 136 households and 4,500 m of roads, 13 schools, 1 commune People's Committee headquarters, 3,160 m of sewers; built 250 m of dike; transported 9 shipments of supplies to people in flooded areas; examined and provided medicine for 180 people; urgently sprayed disinfectant on 1,300 m2 .

"We have mobilized maximum forces and means to reach and evacuate people from the danger zone as quickly as possible. At the same time, we are committed to accompanying people to overcome the consequences, stabilize their lives soon, and promptly deliver essential support resources," Rear Admiral Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized.

According to statistics from the Department of Rescue and Relief, on November 22, the Ministry of National Defense mobilized 18,223 officers and soldiers, 678 cars, 1,170 boats, 2 airplanes, 3 service dogs, and 2 flycams to support people in responding to floods.

On the same day, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, signed an urgent dispatch to military units on strengthening the management and use of national reserves to support and respond to floods in the Central region.

The Ministry of National Defense assigned the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, Military Region 5, and Military Region 7 to study and propose to the ministry to issue national reserve goods to support people in localities affected by floods in accordance with the law and the Ministry of National Defense.
