Dak Lak authorities promptly rescued two people swept away by floodwaters.

On the evening of November 6th, due to the influence of Typhoon No. 13, Dong Xuan commune in Dak Lak province experienced strong winds and heavy rain, causing fast-flowing water and posing a danger to people and vehicles.

At approximately 8 PM on November 6th, Mr. Nguyen Huu Duoc (born in 1972 in Dak Lak province) and his driver were operating a 5-seater Toyota car traveling from Dak Lak province towards Gia Lai. Upon reaching the Ho Trong bridge area (Long Thach hamlet, Dong Xuan commune), 20 meters from the railway line along National Highway 19C, the car was suddenly swept away by a strong current.

The two people in the car managed to open the doors and escape, clinging to a bamboo thicket by the roadside and calling for help. Local residents who witnessed the incident quickly notified the local authorities and rescue forces.

At approximately 10:30 PM, rescue forces from Dong Xuan commune, in coordination with local residents, reached the scene to provide assistance. Mr. Ho Tan Duc, a local resident, bravely embraced a life raft and swam across the strong current to reach the victims. Rescue forces on shore then used ropes to pull the victims safely to safety.

According to observations at the scene, the two victims sustained only minor injuries, and the car was swept away more than 10 meters.
