After 6 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, Dak Lak province currently has 250 products recognized as achieving 3-4 star OCOP. In addition to promoting and advertising consumption, the subjects also focus on investing in upgrading OCOP products to meet the increasing demand of consumers.
With the goal of supporting sustainable development and enhancing the value of OCOP products , in recent times, all levels and sectors in Dak Lak have been implementing many solutions to support OCOP entities in developing brands and consuming products.

Workers of Damaca Nguyen Phuong Joint Stock Company (Krong Nang District, Dak Lak) carry out the macadamia nut production process. This is also one of the potential 5-star products of Dak Lak province.

With agricultural potential, coffee is the main crop of Dak Lak province with an area of ​​over 210,000 hectares, annual output reaching over 550,000 tons. Up to now, coffee is the product selected to participate in the OCOP program with the most 62 products of 46 entities that have achieved 3 to 4 star OCOP certification at the provincial level. Typical products include: Robusta ground coffee of Ede Coffee Company Limited, Ea Tu pure roasted coffee beans of Cong Bang Ea Tu Agricultural Cooperative, Kien Cuong civet coffee of Kien Cuong One Member Cooperative, Wet processed Robusta coffee of Cong Bang Ea Kiet Agricultural Cooperative, Trung Hoa roasted coffee beans of Trung Hoa Ground Coffee Production Joint Stock Company... Being recognized as meeting OCOP standards is a stepping stone for entities to pay more attention to the process from planting, caring, harvesting and processing local agricultural products; constantly upgrading, developing products, promoting trade, and advertising products in domestic and international markets. A typical example is Ea Wy Agricultural Cooperative (Ea H'leo district), exploiting the strengths of local agricultural products, the Cooperative has linked from planting to processing and consuming coffee and pepper products with a raw material area of ​​over 200 hectares. When participating in the chain, farmers are supported with materials, fertilizers and water-saving irrigation systems. All members of the Cooperative are cultivating according to VietGAP standards. To increase the value of products and the selling price of agricultural products for farmers, the Cooperative organizes deep processing to provide the market with standard coffee and pepper products. Improving product quality along with improving designs and investing in equipment systems for production, up to now the Cooperative's ground coffee and pepper products have achieved 3-star OCOP. This will be a favorable condition for the Cooperative to develop and trade its products better in the market.

When achieving OCOP certification, products need to be more complete in terms of labeling, attention to quality, food safety, code control, barcode, traceability... On that basis, create a legal corridor for entities participating in value chains and supermarkets to gain customer trust, contribute to expanding the consumer market, increase revenue and ensure sustainable development. For example, Lam Ngoc Hoi food production facility (Ea Bar commune, Buon Don district) successfully built 4 products that meet 3-star OCOP standards including: bamboo tube snails, snails rolled in ram, snails rolled in betel leaves and snails hugging lemongrass. The facility focuses on improving quality, investing in design and packaging to maintain reputation and expand the market. In addition to actively participating in trade fairs to promote and introduce products, the unit also promotes trading activities on social networking sites such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok... "By participating in the OCOP program, we want to affirm the quality and brand as well as expand the output for the product. OCOP is a program of typical products in each locality. Products are made from local materials and produced by local people, which is an advantage for units participating in the OCOP program. We are also consulted and supported to change packaging appropriately and create conditions to participate in trade fairs to expand the market", Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, owner of Lam Ngoc Hoi food production facility shared.

According to the assessment of the Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Development in Dak Lak province, the province's OCOP products are very diverse. The subjects have focused on investing in production, processing, improving quality and design to access domestic and foreign markets. In addition, the local government also pays attention to supporting subjects in testing, packaging, labeling, especially promoting trade promotion activities, product promotion, contributing to promoting the production and consumption of typical agricultural products in rural areas in a sustainable manner. The program has promoted internal resources, increased value, raised awareness, and changed the thinking of subjects, officials, state management agencies, and consumers about the quality and brand of OCOP products. At the same time, it helps to realize the goal of the OCOP Program as a program for economic development in rural areas, focusing on developing agricultural, non-agricultural and service products with advantages in each locality to create high added value, in order to increase income for people. Thereby, contributing to continuing to restructure the agricultural sector associated with the development of small-scale industry, occupations, services and rural tourism; promoting sustainable development of the rural economy, contributing to building new rural areas in depth, effectively and sustainably.

Thanh Dong Green Food Joint Stock Company invests in machinery to close the production line, improving the quality of OCOP products from mushroom cultivation.

The province currently has 250 OCOP products (3 potential 5-star products, 42 4-star products and 205 3-star products). The 4-star products all have the potential to be improved and standardized in terms of criteria to upgrade the quality to 5-star standards (national level) to enter the international market.
