Phu Yen (now part of the eastern region of Dak Lak province) is entering the 2026 summer tourism season with a series of large-scale cultural, sports, and entertainment events aimed at attracting visitors to this central Vietnamese coastal destination.
The Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a plan to organize various activities to stimulate tourism in the eastern part of the province, focusing on beach experiences, outdoor sports and distinctive cultural festivals.
The highlight of the summer season is the Kite Festival, featuring traditional kites and artistic kites, held on June 6th and 7th at Phu Yen Square, Tuy Hoa Ward. The event brings together approximately 100 artistic kites from clubs both within and outside the province, showcasing a variety of unique designs and colors, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the Tuy Hoa seascape.
In addition to artistic kite displays, the festival also features a display area for bamboo flute kites, and spaces for locals and tourists to visit and take photos. The event is expected to become an attractive check-in spot at the beginning of summer, while also contributing to promoting beach tourism and unique local tourism products.
Simultaneously, on the morning of June 7th, the first ever Chop Chai Mountain - Binh Kien Open Marathon will take place at Nghinh Phong Square, featuring two distances: 5km and 10km. The race is aimed at those who love exercise, exploring nature, and experiencing the unique coastal route of Phu Yen.

"The 2026 Fishing Festival - The Quintessence of Coastal Heritage" will be held in Tuy Hoa ward, along with many activities to serve tourists at various areas and destinations in the locality.

This year, many travel agencies and accommodations have revamped their products to combine relaxation, nature exploration, and local culinary experiences. Short tours for families, groups of young people, and independent travelers are also designed to be more flexible, focusing on outdoor activities and experiences related to the sea.
The continuous organization of festivals and cultural and sporting events during the summer is expected to add more highlights to local tourism, contributing to attracting and retaining tourists during this year's peak season.
