In 2025, the electricity sector will further promote electricity demand management solutions, focusing on encouraging customers with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more to participate in the Demand Response (DR) program and load shifting. During the year, the city had 453 large customers participating in the DR program, contributing to reducing pressure on the power system during peak hours and helping businesses optimize electricity costs, improving production and business efficiency.
Within the framework of the conference, representatives from Can Tho City Power Company presented the results of the pilot implementation of the two-tiered electricity pricing system at 244 businesses in the city. The company and the businesses exchanged and discussed the two-tiered electricity pricing policy, clarifying its direct impact on production costs and electricity usage plans. The power sector committed to continuing to support and advise customers on choosing rational electricity usage solutions and applying appropriate pricing mechanisms, ensuring a balance of interests among all parties.
In 2026, Can Tho City Power Company will continue to prioritize investment in power grid infrastructure; coordinate with the Can Tho City Department of Industry and Trade to develop a power supply plan that closely reflects reality; strengthen monitoring of electricity saving at key energy-consuming facilities, combined with the effective implementation of Demand Response (DR) programs, demand management (DSM), and load forecasting, especially in industrial zones and clusters… At the same time, it will promote digital transformation, linked with improving customer service quality; strengthen communication and mobilization efforts to encourage people and the business community to cooperate with the power industry in using electricity safely, economically, and efficiently.
