The Department of Industry and Trade has just issued a plan to post-inspecte and strengthen food safety inspection during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2025, to ensure product quality, protect consumer rights and promptly handle acts of commercial fraud, counterfeit goods and poor quality goods (photo).
Accordingly, two inspection teams will be established to inspect the implementation of legal regulations on food safety at moon cake production facilities; inspect business establishments and business locations for the circulation of goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods of unknown origin. The peak inspection period will be about 15 days before the Mid-Autumn Festival, from September to October 2025.
The inspection content focuses on legal conditions; origin of raw materials and goods; regulations on product declaration and labeling; hygiene and safety conditions in processing, preserving and circulating goods; compliance with regulations on e-commerce activities, etc.
During the inspection process, propaganda and education on food safety knowledge and laws are integrated, guiding production and business establishments to comply with regulations; raising awareness and sense of law compliance among people and businesses.
