In recent years, the expansion of digital banking services has contributed to accelerating the development of online payment in Lam Dong. People can choose electronic payment methods using digital technology such as: e-wallet, mobile banking, internet banking, QR code...

In markets and shops in communes, wards and special zones, almost all have updated modern payment methods. Among them, QR codes of commercial banks or Viettel Money are commonly used.

Ms. Nguyen Tuong Vy - owner of Ngoc Vy clean food store, Bac Gia Nghia ward said that the store connects QR codes to serve payment at many banks for the convenience of customers in transactions. Every day, the store welcomes dozens of customers to buy. Of these, about 80% of customers use online payment services.

“This form of payment not only benefits customers but also helps me run my business more smoothly. The store can easily manage daily revenue, ensuring financial security in a crowded place,” Ms. Vy shared.

Along with the usual payment activities, currently, payment activities for public services via banks continue to be widely deployed. In areas such as: health, education, social security are applying non-cash payment methods.

According to records, many schools in Lam Dong are promoting cashless payment in revenue and expenditure activities. This payment facilitates the school's financial management and transactions for parents.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat said: "I have 3 children studying at preschool, primary and secondary school levels. Currently, the school has applied software, providing payment codes for each student. For tuition and other payments, we all do it on the software, which is very convenient."

Online payment is increasingly popular

Recently, the State Bank of Region XI continued to direct credit institutions in the region to promote cashless payments. Particularly in Lam Dong, many key routes for cashless payments in communes and wards have come into operation.

Commercial banks have deployed modern infrastructure and payment services that operate safely and effectively. The province currently has nearly 450 ATMs. The card acceptance network (POS) is still in operation, with more than 4,065 machines. The number of QR codes installed at production and business locations to serve non-cash payment needs has reached hundreds of thousands. The number of units paying salaries through accounts is estimated at over 4,200 units.

According to the State Bank of Region XI, many digital banking services and applications are deployed with simple and convenient operations. Mobile banking applications and e-wallets help people transfer money and send messages to their accounts. People can also use a variety of utilities such as: bill payment, e-commerce, tour booking, etc.

In addition to solutions for investment in technology infrastructure and management from the banking system, localities need to focus on developing e-commerce on the basis of electronic trading floors. Business units need to promote online shopping, cashless payments, gradually changing consumer shopping habits and behaviors in a modern direction. Warnings and recommendations against tricks, fraudulent acts, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and theft of information and accounts need to be given more attention by local levels, sectors and units.
