Ensuring safe and thoughtful reception for guests at the province's major event.

The 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site is a major event for the province. Successfully coordinating the event and ensuring safe and thoughtful visitor reception is a requirement for all levels, sectors, and localities.

Upon learning that the 10th anniversary celebration of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site would be held at the Bai Dinh International Convention Center, Ms. Do Thi Xuan (Gia Sinh commune, Gia Vien district) was very excited and proud. Although it wasn't the first time the site had been chosen to host major events, nor the first time she had been assigned to prepare for them, the head of the environmental sanitation team was still eagerly anticipating the event.

Ms. Xuan shared: "Ten years ago, we eagerly attended the UNESCO certificate ceremony here. Ten years have passed, and although many things have changed, the pride of the people in Trang An remains as strong as ever. To prepare for the upcoming anniversary celebration, these days we are mobilizing all nearly 50 members of the Environmental Sanitation Team of the Bai Dinh Pagoda and Cultural Tourism Area, taking advantage of favorable weather to clean up the environment, beautify the grounds, and create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape. Every day, the team members collect waste and clean the grounds within the tourist area and the access roads. Weekly, they organize tree trimming, planting new and replacement of flowers and ornamental plants, ensuring that the grounds are always solemn, fresh, and clean."

According to the Management Board of the Bai Dinh Mountain Spiritual and Cultural Tourism Area, as part of the series of activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, many activities will take place here, such as: "An archaeological exhibition space showcasing the cultural values of the province and the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and images of 9 World Heritage sites in Vietnam", a scientific seminar "The Vu Lam Royal Palace in the process of forming and developing the Truc Lam-Yen Tu Buddhist thought of Tran Nhan Tong and the historical and cultural value of the painting "Truc Lam Dai Si Xuat Son Do", and most importantly, the commemorative ceremony is expected to be held at the end of April 2024.

To ensure a thoughtful and safe reception for guests during events, the Management Board has coordinated with relevant units and local authorities to develop a specific plan for organizing and receiving guests; regularly reviewing and proposing solutions to handle any arising situations. This includes ensuring absolute security, order, and food safety. A sufficient number of fire extinguishers have been prepared in many high-risk areas. The electrical system is equipped with automatic circuit breakers to automatically switch on power in case of a malfunction. Simultaneously, efforts to ensure environmental hygiene inside and outside the temple grounds, and the planning of parking areas, have been intensified.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site (2014-2024), Ninh Binh province will organize a series of unique and engaging activities from January 2024 to September 2024.

The highlight is the Commemoration Ceremony scheduled for 8 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024. This main event will honor the achievements and contributions of organizations and individuals in managing, preserving, and promoting the values of the heritage site. It will also spread the values of the heritage, inspiring and igniting in the younger generation a greater sense of pride in their homeland, their country, and the historical Hoa Lu Ancient Capital.

Recognizing this as a series of significant events contributing to further promoting the heritage value and transforming Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh into a Millennium Heritage City and a centrally-governed city, on December 22, 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 185/KH-UBND on organizing activities to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being inscribed by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site (2014-2024) and Decision No. 24/QD-UBND dated January 12, 2024, on the establishment of the Organizing Committee for activities commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being inscribed by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.

To date, many events in the series of commemorative activities have been successfully organized, such as: the traditional Tet festival and gift market; a press conference announcing the plan for organizing activities; and a seminar on developing heritage tourism products at the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.

This has created a significant impact and widespread influence among the local community, tourists, experts, and researchers both domestically and internationally. The commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site is a momentous event for the province.

Although Ninh Binh has successfully organized and co-organized many major events, this does not mean we should be complacent or negligent. The proactive preparation of each individual, unit, agency, and organization will contribute to the overall success of the event. This will further preserve and promote the values of the heritage, spreading the unique and distinctive values of Trang An to friends both domestically and internationally.
