Stabbing on train in Japan, three injured

Three men were injured in a stabbing attack on a train at Akihabara Station, Tokyo, Japan.

A spokesman for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department said the agency received a call at around 11 p.m. on January 3, saying a woman had attacked a Yamanote Line train with a knife while it was stopped at Akihabara Station in Tokyo.

The stabbing injured three men, none of whom were seriously injured. The woman who committed the crime has been arrested, but her identity and motive are currently unknown.

East Japan Railway Company announced on the same day that the Yamanote line would be temporarily suspended due to a "train incident".
