In 2025, the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) will enroll full-time university students according to 3 groups of admission methods with a total target of 2,700 students.
The school also enrolls students in international joint training programs with degrees awarded by foreign schools.
Admission method includes bonus points for English certificate
Method 1: Direct admission and priority direct admission
Subject 1: Candidates admitted directly according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (according to Article 8 of the current university admission regulations). Candidates whose subjects won the first, second, or third national excellent student prizes are included in the school's admission combination; foreign candidates who meet the language proficiency standards according to the requirements of the training program and major.
Subject 2: Excellent and talented candidates from high schools (1 student from the group of 5 students with the highest average score of 3 years of high school, recommended by the high school principal).
Subject 3: Candidates on the list of 149 high schools prioritized for admission to Ho Chi Minh City National University. How to calculate admission scores:
Admission method for subjects 2 and 3: Consider the total score of subjects in the admission combination in 3 years of grades 10, 11, 12 + calculate CCTA bonus points + priority points for subjects and regions.
In case a candidate in grade 10 lacks 1 subject in the admission combination and changes subjects from grade 11, the candidate will use 8 score columns for admission instead of 9 score columns.
Target 4: Candidates with International Baccalaureate (IB)/A-level certificates or SAT or ACT certificates.
Method 2: Admission based on the results of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam
Method 3: Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2025
Admission score includes CCTA bonus points + priority points for subjects and regions.

How to apply
From June 15 to July 5, candidates can access the website: https://dkxtdhcq.uel.edu.vn to submit supporting documents as required by the admission methods. Please note that candidates must provide supporting documents online and not send their applications by post.
From 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 28, candidates will register their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's admissions portal.
Candidates can register their wishes for many different majors/specialties/programs and there is no limit on the number, but they must arrange their wishes in order of priority from highest to lowest. In case many wishes meet the admission requirements, candidates will only be recognized as having passed and called for admission according to the highest wish.
Each candidate has the opportunity to achieve the maximum score of the assessment scale, but no candidate has a score (including bonus points and priority points) exceeding the maximum score of the assessment method.
There is no difference in admission scores between combinations or between the order of wishes when applying to the same major/specialization/program.
For candidates who are eligible to participate in the admission process in multiple methods or groups of admission subjects: when registering for a program/major, all groups of admission subjects will be considered simultaneously to ensure the highest chance of admission.
In case there are many candidates with the same admission score at the admission threshold, the school will use the secondary criteria of the order of wishes (wish 1 is the highest wish) registered to select the successful candidates.
Convert English points and add bonus points
According to Master Cu Xuan Tien - Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the school - for candidates with international English certificates as prescribed, the school allows candidates to use the converted certificate score results to replace the corresponding English exam score to consider the total score of 3 graduation exams according to the admission subject group.
In addition, candidates with English certificates can still register for the English graduation exam and use the bonus point policy for admission consideration.
"In order to ensure maximum benefits for candidates, the school will synthesize and select the option with the highest total admission score to consider for candidates. Note that the school does not simultaneously apply bonus points and convert English certificate points," said Mr. Tien.
Bonus points and conversion points of English certificates
The above bonus points and conversion points are applied to the high school graduation exam score method (combination of 3 subjects, maximum score is 30 points). For different methods, they will be converted to the maximum score of the corresponding method.
The school does not simultaneously apply bonus points and convert English certificate points.
Candidates who use the conversion of certificate scores to replace the corresponding foreign language exam scores to consider the total graduation exam score according to the School's subject combination will not receive bonus points for the English certificate.
For TOEIC certificate: candidates need to submit TOEIC certificate (listening and reading) and TOEIC certificate (speaking and writing) at the same time. Bonus points and conversion points will be based on the lower component score pair.
For TOEFL iBT certificate: TOEFL iBT Home Edition certificate does not apply.
The school has also announced the expected tuition fees for full-time students in the class of 2025.
