Mother Lien loves Dang Thai Son the most
When talking about artist Thai Thi Lien, the public often knows her through the stories of artist Dang Thai Son and People's Artist Tran Thu Ha. Architect Tran Thanh Binh rarely appears in the press.
Unlike his younger brothers, Mr. Binh did not pursue a musical career. So how does he look at his mother?
Mr. Binh told Tuoi Tre Online : "When my sisters and I sat together, we still wondered how our mother overcame that long and difficult period."

He said: "In addition to my three sisters, there are also two stepchildren of Mr. Dang Dinh Hung.
Sometimes there was also grandma. Plus the couple, eight people in total.
Yet my mother still managed to support all those people with just her music. There was even a maid. We couldn't understand it."
According to Mr. Binh, despite all the hardships, artist Thai Thi Lien still fulfilled her role as a mother. Until now, her children still remember the lullabies their mother sang them when they were young.
Mr. Binh added: "Uncle Son is Mom's favorite child. He is often given priority. We have to try to be good and line up so she can clean our ears."
Later, artist Thai Thi Lien went abroad to live mainly with artist Dang Thai Son. "10 years before she passed away, when my mother returned to the country, we were able to take care of her," architect Tran Thanh Binh said. "Even though she was so old, every time she went on a business trip, my mother always reminded me to take my medicine very carefully."

The most special concert in memory of artist Thai Thi Lien
Talking about the concert on December 28, Mr. Binh said that since the artist Thai Thi Lien passed away, the family always thought of holding a memorial concert, not too close, not too far and having a necessary distance to ease the sadness of losing their mother. It was only today that it was able to be held.
"This will be a very special music night in memory of her," music critic Nguyen Quang Long informed.
Special for several reasons. The event was held at a concert hall - designed by the son of artist and architect Tran Thanh Binh.
Took place at the Vietnam National Academy of Music - where she was one of the seven founders of the school and the first head of the piano department until her retirement in 1977.
Especially because the most talented generations of Vietnamese pianists are all gathered in this music night: Kim Dung, Tuyet Minh, Tran Thu Ha, Dang Quang, Thu Nga, Dao Trong Tuyen, Nguyen Huy Phuong, Nguyen Hoang Phuong, Luu Duc Anh, Tu My, Huong Giang, Trinh Huong, Linh Chi.
In particular, famous musician Dang Thai Son will perform for 40 minutes, dedicating his favorite songs to the artist.
The artists will play 4-hand, 6-hand, 8-hand pianos… demonstrating the continuity of generations of Vietnamese piano.

With the theme of the music night "The sound of the piano still resonates" , Mr. Binh said that although his mother has passed away, her piano sound is still passed on to the next generation. During her lifetime, she always wished for a strong piano force and good facilities, with many pianos to play.
"Both of those wishes are expressed on stage this time," Mr. Binh shared.
