The Vietnamese girls' opponents in the final match of the women's four-person team event were their rivals Thailand, the world's number one sepak takraw team and last year's champions.

In their most recent encounter in this event in March of this year at the World Cup in India, the Vietnamese women's team won 2-1.
In this rematch, the home team Thailand started better, winning the first set 15-12.
However, in the following two sets, Coach Tran Thi Vui's players performed extremely consistently, with outside hitter Tran Thi Ngoc Yen being the most outstanding.
In the second set, the Vietnamese women's team won 15-8. In the deciding set, despite being down 5-2, the Vietnamese girls scored 7 consecutive points to take a 9-5 lead before winning 15-7.
Defeating Thailand 2-1 (12-15, 15-8, 15-7), the Vietnamese women's team won the gold medal in the women's team of 4 event.
Thus, the Vietnamese girls have avenged their loss to Thailand in last year's final.
In the men's four-person team event, Vietnam also reached the final but lost to the Japanese men's team and received the silver medal.
At the conclusion of the 2025 Sepak Takraw World Championships, Vietnam won a total of 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
