In the first minutes of the match, both teams played quite safely and no really dangerous situations were created. U20 Uzbekistan was the sharper team and in the 18th minute, Zafarmurod Abdirahmatov launched a dangerous shot but goalkeeper Kim Joon Hong flew to block it.
The match was quite tense and in the 28th minute, Kang Sang Yoon received a yellow card after pulling the shirt of an Uzbekistan U20 player right in front of the penalty area. Abbosbek Fayzullaev took a free kick outside the penalty area but the ball went over the crossbar.

The tightness of both teams meant that the first 45 minutes ended without any goals being scored. In the first 15 minutes of the second half, U20 Korea was the team that pressed the field more but they did not create any really remarkable situations.
The players of both teams played quite aggressively and there were many malicious tackles. The referee handed out quite a few yellow cards. At the end of the match, Makhamadjonov dribbled skillfully in the penalty area and shot, but the ball went wide of the post.
In the final minute of extra time, Esanov turned and shot, but goalkeeper Kim Joon Hong caught the ball. The two teams had to go into extra time to determine the winner, after 90 minutes of tense 0-0 draw.
If the first extra time was quite boring, the last 15 minutes were full of excitement with the home team dominating the number of opportunities created in front of goalkeeper Kim Joon Hong's goal. Unfortunately, both Shakhzod Akramov and Umarali Rahmonaliyev finished hastily.

After a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes of play, both teams had to enter a penalty shootout. U20 Uzbekistan won 3-1 in the thrilling shootout.
In their series of kicks, Fayzullaev, Makhamadjonov, Abdurahmatov of U20 Uzbekistan all successfully executed. On the side of U20 Korea, only Park Chang Woo succeeded, while Kang Seong Jin, Kang Sang Yoon and Kim Ji Soo all missed.
U20 Korea and U20 Japan stopped at the semi-finals, but they both won tickets to the 2023 U20 World Cup. Host U20 Uzbekistan will meet U20 Iraq in the final match of the 2023 U20 Asian Cup, taking place at 9:00 p.m. on March 17.
