The human value system of a land is a synthesis of common standards, beliefs, concepts and ideals that the community respects and follows. This is a very important factor, playing a great role, position and significance in shaping and developing that land. The human value system is the core foundation for forming the unique cultural identity of a land. It shows how people behave with nature, with society and with themselves, creating unique characteristics that cannot be confused with other places. These values play a role as an ethical convention governing the behavior and lifestyle of the community to evaluate what is right, what is wrong, what is good, what is bad in society. This is also the compass that helps each individual practice and improve themselves. It encourages positive qualities such as: compassion, diligence, sense of responsibility, thereby improving the quality of human resources for the homeland. The human value system is at the core, the soul of the community's spiritual life. It permeates every aspect, from customs, practices, festivals, arts to education and working methods; it is the bond that connects the community, creating cohesion and empathy among community members. This is also a precious heritage passed down through many generations; it represents the struggle, survival and development of a nation, a land, helping future generations understand and appreciate their roots. A positive value system will contribute to creating a civilized, fair and humane society; promote cooperation, sharing and mutual assistance, creating a safe and livable living environment. At the same time, it guides development towards sustainability, balancing economic development and cultural and environmental conservation. This is the endogenous strength, a vital factor that determines the existence, development and position of that land in the flow of history and global integration.

Khanh Hoa - the coastal land of the Central region - is not only famous for its blue sea and white sand, but is also the place where the unique human values of the Vietnamese people are crystallized and preserved. Hidden deep in the endless sunshine and wind, in the sound of the waves day and night are the qualities of generosity, kindness, tolerance, generosity, the desire to rise up and the unique cultural identity that only exists in this land of Agarwood.

The coastal region is the place where the unique products and values of Khanh Hoa are nurtured, with nearly 500km of coastline, beautiful bays and islands such as Nha Trang, Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Vinh Hy... have long stood tall as the gateway for the Central region to contact the outside world ; blessed by nature with unique products such as agarwood, bird's nests... with rich and diverse terrain, interwoven between mountains, forests, plains, rivers, seas and islands. In addition, the exchange and interaction between cultures, merchant ships, and residents from all over the world have created a "coastal people's character" that is liberal, generous, strong, and lives in harmony but does not lose its warmth and affection. The harshness of nature - storms, sun, wind, drought - cannot hold back the people here. They have known how to harmonize, adapt, and create their own values of life to protect their existence; turning hardships into motivation, turning challenges into aspirations to rise up.
Khanh Hoa people are generous and kind.
If we had to choose a word to describe the character of Khanh Hoa people, it would certainly be chivalry. Living with the ocean, people soon realize that, in the midst of the vast waves and winds, the love of fellow countrymen and neighbors will be the pillars that help them overcome all dangers. When the sea is rough, the whole village comes down to save their friends. The familiar image for generations is that of experienced fishermen, or young men of fishing villages, ready to rush into the rough waves to save fishermen in distress without any calculation. "The bigger the ocean waves, the bigger the hearts of people", that is the motto that has permeated the blood and flesh of many generations of Khanh Hoa. Stories of groups of people lining up to pass fish after the ships, fish parties where "everyone gets a share", village festivals filled with an atmosphere of sharing and caring create the spirit of "the generosity of the South Central Coast". When typhoon No. 12 hit Khanh Hoa in 2017, it was the local people who were the first to open the way to the flooded area, bring hundreds of people to safety, provide clean water, instant noodles, relief, and rebuild collapsed roofs. The people also “shared their food and clothes” during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Besides generosity, kindness is a quality that helps Khanh Hoa people maintain inner stability through many changes of fate. “Khanh Hoa people are gentle, calm, loving, and willing to listen” - that is the comment of friends from many regions about the people of the land of Agarwood. Their speech and speech are calm, smooth, both gentle and friendly. They communicate politely but not flashily, respect their promises, are strict with bad things but still forgive others for their mistakes.
Tolerance, the standard of accepting cultural diversity
Khanh Hoa has long been a gathering place for hundreds of thousands of foreigners and recently millions of international tourists. Openness, acceptance of new things, without suspicion, without rejection are the reasons why this land has a prominent "tolerance and diversity". Exchange but not dissolution. The history of Khanh Hoa is a history of East-West fusion. From the mindset of "sacred worship" combined with Taoism, to the lifestyle of trade, opening up to the West while still preserving ancestral beliefs; from the architectural art of ancient Cham-Vietnamese pagodas and towers, to churches, French villas... Visitors to Nha Trang can easily come across street corners with fragrant spring rolls, fish noodles, banh can... sold with Japanese, Korean-style sushi, tempura or Russian, European, Chinese restaurants. But in each dish there is a hidden exchange without forgetting identity. Khanh Hoa people are hospitable, respect differences but understand that only tolerance can preserve their own unique color. Not afraid of the new, not giving up the old. It is tolerance that creates the endogenous strength that helps people here enthusiastically absorb technology, knowledge, and modern production methods of the world, not confining themselves in the "village pond". The craft villages of bird's nest, fish sauce, salt making... continuously improve their production lines; the young generation knows how to exploit e-commerce, digital tourism, and knowledge economy, but always upholds the culture of their roots, respects their ancestors, and preserves village festivals and traditional festivals.
Aspiration to reach out to the ocean
It can be said that aspiration is the strongest driving force for Khanh Hoa people. That is the aspiration to get rich, to go beyond the "village bamboo fence", to bring the name of their land to the world. Fishermen in Cam Ranh, Nha Trang, Van Ninh once wished: "Going to sea is not only to make a living, but also to prove that we can conquer the sea, to bring the most precious things in Khanh Hoa to the people". Generations of fishermen here do not stop at traditional fishing but also learn, experiment with cage fish farming, lobster farming and today are promoting logistics development to master the value chain. Traveling throughout the regions of Cam Lam, Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh, Vinh Hai, Ca Na... everywhere you can see shrimp export warehouses; bird's nest processing factories; grape, melon, asparagus farms; unique community tourism and homestay models. The result of nurturing that aspiration is the development of many prestigious brands: Khanh Hoa bird's nest reaching out to five continents; Khanh Hoa salt has become a precious product; Nha Trang has become an international sea service center. In particular, Khanh Hoa has tens of thousands of young workers who dare to think, dare to do, and constantly strive to improve the image of their homeland.

Not only earning a living, Khanh Hoa people today also crave a modern and civilized urban life. In coastal cities like Nha Trang, activities to protect the marine environment, preserve coral reefs, pick up trash, and say no to plastic bags are widely supported by the people. The young generation has been proactively integrating internationally, learning English, developing smart tourism, contributing to changing the face of the poetic land of Agarwood.
The core cultural characteristic is the beauty that is evident in every house, every smile. All of these values blend together to create the "unique cultural whole" of Khanh Hoa. That is the ancestral altar in every house, the village communal house, the fishing festival, the spirit of "sharing rice and clothes", the cup of tea to invite guests from afar, the bustling drum sound in the festival as if inviting the sacred spirit of the mountains and rivers to gather. You will be surprised to see children still politely saying "yes, sir"; the elderly teaching their grandchildren each sentence "words must be clean"; young people showing gratitude to their parents, loyalty to friends. International tourists are even more surprised by the friendly smiles, the attentive service attitude of the merchant, the taxi driver or the restaurant owner - every small action radiates culture: living in harmony but knowing how to preserve oneself; striving to be modern, intelligent, affirming one's own identity in each step out into the world.
In short, the value system of Khanh Hoa people is the eternal imprint of the sea, mountains and humanity; it is a lively symphony of generosity, kindness, tolerance, aspiration and unique cultural qualities of the Vietnamese coastal people. These values do not come naturally, but are crystallized over hundreds of years through each generation, the result of knowing how to filter beauty in hardship, knowing how to open up to integrate without forgetting one's roots. Come to the Central region once, visit Khanh Hoa, you will feel more clearly about the people here like waves, like the sea - strong but gentle, determined but tolerant, simple but profound, reaching far but still full of love for the homeland. Khanh Hoa today is not only a "sea paradise calling" of tourism, but also a land that inspires every Vietnamese person about the courage to live, faith, innovation and kindness - values that any generation, in any era, needs to preserve and continue to promote.
Building the homeland more and more prosperous and modern
To effectively promote the good values typical of Khanh Hoa people as a driving force to build an increasingly prosperous and modern homeland, it is necessary to prioritize the synchronous, comprehensive and close implementation of a number of key solutions as follows: First , strengthen education and propaganda about traditional values, create a sense of pride, preserve and promote the good qualities of Khanh Hoa people in all generations, especially the young generation. Second, build a healthy cultural environment. Organize cultural activities, folk festivals and community movements to raise community awareness, promote the spirit of solidarity, generosity and tolerance of the people. Third, arouse the desire for development. Promote the spirit of innovation, encourage the will to rise up, build a civilized, friendly and dynamic lifestyle in socio-economic development. Fourth, preserve and promote typical cultural values. Promote activities to preserve cultural heritage, develop cultural tourism, and combine traditional values with modern elements to create a unique identity for Khanh Hoa. Fifth, develop a tolerant and compassionate community. Strengthen social security programs, support the poor and those in difficult circumstances, and build a fair and humane society. Sixth, connect and cooperate to build the homeland. Promote cooperation among all classes of people, businesses and the government to join hands to build Khanh Hoa for sustainable development.
By effectively awakening, utilizing and promoting these unique values, Khanh Hoa not only creates an important foundation and strong driving force to accelerate and break through in economic development, but also preserves traditional cultural identity, creating a prosperous, modern and culturally rich homeland.
