On October 5th, the Samsung Innovation Campus 2023-2024 Technology Talent Development Program was launched. The program aims to develop high-tech capabilities for young Vietnamese people who will lead the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam in the future.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Ngo Thi Minh, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, emphasized: "The program is very much in line with the educational guidelines and is practical in the national digital transformation program for the period 2025 and the orientation to 2030."
Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex, assessed that the demand for technology talent in Vietnam has recently been booming. In the context of the Industry 4.0 era, Vietnam's policies, and the investment of many IT companies in Vietnam, this environment offers vast opportunities for Vietnamese youth.
"However, the training of IT talent in Vietnam is currently very limited. This is also the reason why we are making even greater efforts in training IT and science and technology talent in Vietnam through our programs," said Mr. Choi Joo Ho.
Reportedly, this year's program will continue to offer technology skills development courses for young people aged 14-24.
Specifically, starting this year, the program will increase the teaching time for advanced technology courses including: Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and a basic coding and programming skills course.
These courses will be offered using a combination of online and in-person instruction to reach students in many provinces and regions across the country.
The program is designed on an educational foundation that combines core future-oriented technology skills with soft skills and practical work skills.
These training contents were selected through a stratified survey of development trends in various industries across different regions, combined with recruitment needs at major companies.
Upon completing the course and achieving the required results, students will receive a certificate of completion and have the opportunity to practice building a final project, applying the knowledge learned to solve real-world problems.
The program is expected to provide learning and technological development opportunities for approximately 6,000 students in Vietnam.
In addition, the program will also organize training courses for teachers, aiming to support the improvement of their professional and pedagogical skills, as well as supplement their practical teaching abilities.
In particular, responding to the Prime Minister 's call, this year Samsung will collaborate with the National Innovation Center (NIC) to build a dedicated lab for the Samsung Innovation Campus program right at the NIC's Hoa Lac campus, and will also work with NIC to select students to participate in the project. Approximately 300 students are expected to participate in the Samsung Innovation Campus courses at this facility.
The program was officially launched globally in 2019 and has now expanded to 32 countries worldwide, including the US, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and more.
In Vietnam, the program has also been implemented since 2019. After 5 years, the program has provided approximately 6,021 Vietnamese youth and about 389 teachers with courses in areas such as C&P, AI, Big Data, and IoT. To date, the project has expanded to approximately 40 schools and 20 provinces and cities nationwide.
