To collaborate with universities in training, opening up opportunities for students to approach early business and market problems, Viettel organizes the Viettel Digital Talent program. The program has been organized for 3 seasons. Each year, the number of participating applications increases. In season 3, Viettel received 2,000 applications, 2 times more than season 1.

Mr. Tao Duc Thang emphasized that the Government is currently very interested in and wants to promote the high-tech industry in Vietnam. The world's leading technology companies such as Samsung or NVIDIA have been invited to invest in Vietnam, and one of the most important requirements is human resources. Therefore, the goal of Viettel Digital Talent is to help students have earlier access, more practice, so that they can take over practical jobs right after graduation.

Attending the program's closing ceremony, Mr. Huynh Dang Chinh, Deputy Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, commented: "Thanks to Viettel, thanks to the needs of domestic Vietnamese enterprises, with very urgent problems, our young force, right from when they were still in school, has combined knowledge and desire to solve very good and interesting problems."

Mr. Huynh Dang Chinh believes that the greatest value that the program brings is spiritual energy, helping students see how the knowledge in school will be applied, under the guidance of domestic and foreign mentors from Viettel and Viettel's partner network in real-life problems.

A representative of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Education and Training, commented: "Viettel Digital Talent has raised topics that are very big problems that society and the world are urgently facing and need to solve. The students are very brave and confident in daring to conquer the next peaks."

Reinforce knowledge outside the classroom

In addition to practical problems, the program also invites leading professors and doctors from universities to teach to consolidate knowledge and add critical perspectives for candidates.

Mr. Thang commented that universities have made many improvements in teaching, closely following the reality of the labor market. With Viettel Digital Talent, inviting more lecturers with many contributions in the scientific community in Vietnam and around the world also helps Viettel leaders consolidate new knowledge, promptly grasp scientific research to apply in practice.

"We also really want to do these things for students, but within the school framework, we cannot do everything. Having one of the largest enterprises in the country join us and organize events like this is very valuable. I really appreciate the support and the idea of this program from Viettel for students nationwide," said Mr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology.

High-quality human resources for the country are not only the responsibility of educational institutions, but also the responsibility of businesses."

Regarding the quality of candidates this year, Mr. Thang assessed that more than 2,000 applications for the program are all excellent students, with a solid grasp of the basic knowledge trained at the schools. Of these, 200 candidates were selected as students who are suitable for the fields and professions that Viettel pursues as well as the target in the plan.

At the end of Viettel Digital Talent season 3, 71 best candidates were selected to sign official working contracts, accompanying Viettel in projects that will positively contribute to Vietnam in the future.

In April 2023, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) held an opening ceremony with the participation of 192 excellent students selected from nearly 1,900 applications.

In season 3, Viettel Digital Talent expanded its training area in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 6 areas - Cloud, Cyber Security, Data Science & AI, IoT, 5G and Software & Data Engineering.

Notably, this year Viettel also accepted candidates who are currently studying abroad. In addition, 45% of candidates participating in this year's program are students who have won national and international awards.
