According to the VNA correspondent in Moscow, as part of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, a special art exhibition entitled "Teacher-Student: The Melody of a Path" opened at the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow.

The exhibition features approximately 90 diverse works including paintings, graphic art, sculptures, and decorative arts by master artists from the Soviet Union and Russia, as well as their Vietnamese students. Notably, many of the artists are members of the Soviet Academy of Arts and the Russian Academy of Arts.

The event was honored to welcome the wife of the General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi and his wife, the Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko and his wife, along with numerous officials from both countries and art lovers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Vasily Tsereteli expressed his honor in organizing this beautiful exhibition, which showcases the legacy between generations of Russian and Vietnamese artists.

He pointed out that the works of the Vietnamese school of painting and the Russian realist school show that teachers and students, working in the same space, can still create world- class visual art.

The artistic quality of the exhibition is evidenced by the presence of a large number of master painters, including People's Painter Nikas Safronov, one of the most highly regarded painters in Russia.

Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrei Malyshev affirmed that cooperation in training in the creative field between the two countries has been widely implemented for a long time, and today has formed a closely linked artistic "path," as the exhibition's title suggests: "Teacher and Student..."

The exhibition, representing over half a century of collaborative creativity between outstanding Soviet and Russian masters of fine arts and their Vietnamese students, who were trained in Russia in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, reflects the deepest essence of the relationship between the two countries. It is a vivid example of the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing the connection and closeness between their cultures.

Maria Zakharova, Head of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extended many warm and heartfelt words of welcome to the Exhibition, quoting many sayings of Vietnamese writers and poets about Russia in the hearts of Vietnam.

Notably, the exhibition features five works by artist and People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan, father of the wife of the General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly - one of the first Vietnamese students to study in the Soviet Union from 1962.

After years of studying in the Soviet Union, artist Ngo Manh Lan became a great animator and a respected teacher to many generations of students.

Many generations of Vietnamese children grew up with his animated films "The Adventures of Cricket" (1959) , "The Kitten's New Year" (1970), "The Talking Myna" (1970) and other works.

He had a long-standing personal friendship with his mentor, Ivan Petrovich Ivanov-Vano, who later inspired him to draw the animated film "Ave Maria" (1972).

Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly pointed out that the exhibition demonstrated the positive results of cooperation in training in general, and fine arts training in particular, between the two countries.

Deeply moved by the affection and appreciation shown by Russian art experts for the works of painter Ngo Manh Lan, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly affirmed that the exhibition will make a significant contribution to strengthening the friendship and the good traditional relationship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly was honored to receive the Gold Medal "For the Deserving" from the Russian Academy of Arts for her positive contributions to the development of art and international cultural relations.

At the same time, sculptor Dao Chau Hai - a student of Professor and People's Painter P.I. Bondarenko - was also awarded the title of Honorary Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.

As Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh reiterated, Vietnam and the Russian Federation are bound together by a long-standing traditional friendship.

The 75-year journey of relations between the two countries is an invaluable asset for the people, with positive contributions from a foundation of deep cultural cooperation, including the teacher-student relationship between many generations of Vietnamese and Russian people.

Referring to the Russian proverb "A teacher is a second father to every person," Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Arts, and the Russian teachers and friends who took the initiative to organize the exhibition.

Art lovers who cherish the friendship between Vietnam and Russia can admire artworks that blend the dedicated guidance of Russian teachers with the creative adaptation of Vietnamese students until September 28th in Moscow.
