Could the Ambassador assess the significance of the visit in the historic last days of April, especially when the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations?
Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo's visit to Vietnam takes place at a very special time, when we have just celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, and at the same time the two countries celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (February 14, 1965 - February 14, 2025).
This is a meaningful milestone, not only demonstrating the loyal and close relationship between the two peoples who have shared years of struggle for independence and freedom, but also opening up new opportunities to further promote bilateral relations in the new stage of development.
I hope this visit will further deepen the trustful political relationship between the two countries, and at the same time create momentum to promote substantive cooperation in many fields such as economics, trade, investment, agriculture, education, and telecommunications, in line with the current development trend of the world.
In particular, the visit will create conditions for the two sides to exchange strategic orientations, aiming to exploit the great potential of both Vietnam and Tanzania in the current context of deep global integration.

At the end of February, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang paid a working visit to Dar es Salaam. During the meeting with Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo , Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation, identifying Tanzania as one of the leading important partners in Africa. Could you tell us about the highlights of the relationship between the two countries over the past 6 decades?
Looking back over the past 60 years, the Vietnam-Tanzania relationship has always been nurtured by sincere and loyal solidarity.
During the period of national liberation struggle, Tanzania was one of the friendly countries that strongly supported the just cause of the Vietnamese people. During the period of national construction and development, the two sides continued to maintain high-level delegation exchanges, coordinate and support each other at international forums.
Economic, trade and investment cooperation has also been marked by remarkable achievements. In particular, Viettel Group’s Halotel telecommunications investment project in Tanzania is considered a successful model in economic cooperation between the two countries, contributing to the expansion of digital infrastructure and creating thousands of jobs for local people.
In addition, cooperation projects in agriculture, education and health are also bright spots, demonstrating the spirit of practical and effective cooperation.
The successful working trip to Tanzania and talks between Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo helped affirm and further strengthen the bilateral relationship, contributing significantly to the important milestones of the two countries in 2025.

According to the Ambassador, what should Vietnam and Tanzania do to promote potential and space, and promote bilateral economic - trade - investment cooperation in the current trend of green transformation and digital transformation?
In the context of the world shifting strongly towards green transformation and digital transformation, I think Vietnam and Tanzania need to strengthen connections with the business community, organize investment and trade promotion forums to promote the potential and strengths of each side.
The two countries should also encourage cooperation in areas such as green economy, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, information technology, and e-commerce, thereby both being in line with global development trends and meeting the practical needs of both sides.
In addition, it is necessary to complete the legal framework and sign new bilateral agreements to facilitate trade and investment. Another very important area is training high-quality human resources, helping Tanzania have more labor force to meet the requirements of development in the digital age and international integration.
After nearly a year of being assigned to Tanzania, can the Ambassador share his personal impressions and memories of the country and people of this East African nation?
During nearly a year working in Tanzania, I had very special and precious experiences with this beautiful country and its hospitable people.
Tanzania is not only famous for its majestic natural landscapes such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Victoria or Serengeti Park, but also deeply impressed me by the hospitality, friendliness and special affection that the people have for Vietnam...
Thank you very much Ambassador!
