Fighting against distorted arguments about the Vietnam People's Army

In recent times, hostile forces have tried to distort and deny the humanistic significance and noble international spirit of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) participating in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations. They claim that the Vietnamese State sends military forces to participate in UN peacekeeping operations to "find ways to promote itself", "The State does not care about protecting sovereignty but instead does useless things", "The Government sends the VPA to participate in UN peacekeeping forces to join a military alliance, to invade and occupy other countries",... With such arguments, their purpose is to distort Vietnam's defense guidelines and policies, the Party's foreign policies and guidelines, and to lower the prestige of the Party and State of Vietnam in the international arena.

Implementing the strategy of "peaceful evolution" against Vietnam, hostile forces always identify Vietnam's defense guidelines and policies as one of the main contents that need to be focused on attacking and sabotaging; thereby, gradually eliminating the Party's absolute and direct leadership role in all aspects of the army, " depoliticizing the army", causing the army to deviate from its goals and ideals, and not properly perform its functions and tasks.

Through our State sending the People's Army to participate in UN peacekeeping operations, they took advantage of this event to propagate and distort Vietnam's defense policies and guidelines. Thereby, they aimed to defame the image of our army and erode the people's trust.

In order to carry out the above intention, hostile forces have used the Internet and social networks to propagate and distort, especially at times when important political events take place in the country. In the face of the tricks and sabotage activities of hostile forces, in order to further improve the effectiveness of the fight and refute the distorted arguments about the Vietnam People's Army's participation in UN peacekeeping activities in the coming time, it is necessary to focus on propagating the following contents:

Continue to innovate the content and methods, further enhance the combativeness and effectiveness of advocacy and propaganda work to make cadres, party members, soldiers, people, overseas Vietnamese and the international community correctly and fully aware of Vietnam's defense guidelines and policies in general, the position and role of the Vietnam People's Army's UN peacekeeping activities in Vietnam's defense foreign policy in particular; and the achievements that the Vietnam People's Army has achieved when participating in UN peacekeeping activities. In particular, it is necessary to advocate and propagate to make cadres, party members and people raise their vigilance, be able to identify and be "immune" to bad, toxic and distorted information about Vietnam's defense guidelines and policies.

The work of combating and preventing propaganda and distortion activities by hostile forces must always be under the direct and comprehensive leadership and direction of the Party and State in order to promote the strength of the entire political system. This struggle must be deployed deeply and widely throughout the entire Party, people and army with rich content suitable for each target group. In particular, it is necessary to mobilize the unanimous support and participation of intellectuals, scholars and people of all walks of life at home and abroad.

In addition, it is necessary to continue implementing the defense foreign policy, strengthening international cooperation with countries and international organizations in the defense field to create a peaceful and stable environment for national construction and development. Fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints to protect the defense foreign policy and the UN peacekeeping activities of our army is a regular, long-term and drastic task.

Despite the difficulties and long-term complications, we believe that under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, with the determination of the entire Party, people and army, we will successfully carry out this task, thereby enhancing the position and prestige of the country, affirming a peace-loving Vietnam, ready to be friends with all countries in the world./ .
